ScribbleGuild Loves Dialogue

Scripts are underrepresented on Whaleshares as a creative form; both films and plays. ScribbleGuild wants to encourage scriptwriting to add a new dimension to the platform and a new vitality to everyone's writing.

Curation for Scripts

To encourage script writing and the study of dialogue, ScribbleGuild will be running a dedicated scripts curation. As posts featuring scripts are dropped in our share your best work channel on ScribbleGuild Discord, they will be assessed. If we find something worthy it will be curated and awarded on an ad hoc basis. Once we have sufficient submissions we'll switch over to a weekly curation.

Our aim is to make posting short scripts and vignettes on Whaleshares financially lucrative and instructive.

Why Write Scripts?

You might naturally prefer the medium of film or stage performance and its dialogue heavy focus. Then, of course, writing scripts is necessary. Alternatively, you might be a writer who recognises that your dialogue needs some work. Removing the narrative voice and writing pure dialogue is perhaps the best way to improve it. Lastly, writing scenes, and reading the literature about the mechanics of how scenes work is excellent for improving a writer's pacing and structure.
