Lightening Round ~ Probity

Today's word of the day for February 17 is probity.

I actually forgot I had to work with the word when I started writing. I was just putting down what's in my head and watching the word count. I finished and had to cut and edit.
Take a look.

The house was dark as he slowly made his way down the stairs. He had waited till past midnight to come here. Recently, his probity had been in question and he was rattled. He walked to the center of the sitting room and stopped.

This day, thirty-five years ago, before the foundation was laid, he had stood on the same spot. His eyes had been free of tears when he tied her up and dragged her towards the shallow hole he dug. It didn't matter she was with child. He wasn't the father anyway. Today, he only felt exhausted.
