The Daily Diary Question: Who would you be if you could be anybody, or explain what 'holds water' means.

^_^; I really like myself (despite all the genetic issues I have) and the past which made me. I wouldn't want to be anyone else because it would mean I wouldn't exist. I guess some people think nonexistence is a good idea, though. I can't judge that because I have family like that. It's not a happy feeling, though, to imagine they'd rather not be alive than experience life. You only get to be you once.

A combination of two ideas... the first one is that it is a container, and its information within can be scrutinized, absorbed, etc. The second idea is that same concept, except dealing with someone's story or alibi; all the information that can prove their story is legit is within (and is hopefully plainer than Pinocchio's nose when he lies). I suppose in a metaphorical way, holding water all depends on how dirty the water is. In both senses.
