Continuing on from my last post about Living and Working in Germany. Today was a Monday, first day at work in a foreign country far away from home and family. So at the end of an eight hour day standing on my feet, the last thing I felt like doing was to cook for six people. Yessss! There are 6 of us and I had never cooked anything except cheese on toast or something very easy that came out of a packet or tin! However, I have been delegated to cook on this occasion, everyone had to cook for one day per week ~ except take-away pizza on a Friday! [ These were the "House Rules" ] ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ

I was assigned with cooking a meal very similar to the image below

I now know a lot more about cooking, than I did back then, but no matter how much I protested to have help! Everyone was tired from working the first day and did not want to stand out the kitchen. So I just had no option but to just get on with it. First mistake, I cooked the bacon first, then put it in the oven with the chips. Then cooked the eggs and sausages together ~ Second mistake! I think you can imagine that this meal is not going to be good :joy:

Now I was really stressed and waiting for chips to cook that I should of cooked first! Ohhhh! man! and all I could hear was Steve saying: "is dinner ready yet" Sometimes I hated him :japanese_ogre:

So, finally dinner is served, I scraped everything onto plates and shouted: "Dinner's ready"! Surprisingly :joy: they were not impressed, with Jim & Steve complaining the most! Anyway, I was kind of used to eating burnt food myself, and ate some of theirs too :joy: The girls just giggled at me, saying we will help you a little next time you have to cook

Then after eating, I had to put everything in the dish-washer ( as that was also the "House Rules"). Whoever cooks also clears up the mess after dinner! I think at this point, the girls noticed I was a bit fed up, so they suggested having a drink downstairs in the basement Bar room. So we played music, while me, Sam and Mags drank half a bottle of Schnapps between us! Suddenly, I felt happier, slowly getting drunk with two girlies :grinning:

To be continued in Part #4
Bye for now, see you all again soon...
