When I got the invite to co-host this event with @zizymena, my heart skipped for minutes because I am not a fan of public speaking. She encouraged me that I was capable and that really helped me. Kudos to @bookoons, the secretary of Blockchain Africa, for her immense contributions to the success of the event. After so many rehearsals with my beautiful co-host, we were fully prepared and ready but the truth is, we were shocked by the number of attendees.

Exactly 8:30 pm, the event started with over 45 attendees already on voice. When I joined my co-host on voice, I was so scared that my voice was shaking. Eventually, my courage kicked in as @zizymena started talking. We started with acknowledging the presence of everyone at the show, I appreciated the females while @zizymena did for the guys and the show started.

We started with the karaoke show, the participants chose a song to sing and performed to the amazement of the audience. 5 participants showed interest and performed; @imransoudagar, @edwin23, @daniel-otaniel, @adeyemoy and @jesse12. @imransoudagar sang “What a wonderful world” by Louis Armstrong followed by @edwin23 who sang “Wait for you” by Johnny Drille. @daniel-otaniel sang “Stay with me” by Sam Smith. @adeyemoy sang “Angel of my life” by Paul Dairo and @jesse12 rounded up this part by singing “Romeo and Juliet” by Johnny Drille. After their performances, the audience were asked to vote for their favorite performers and the top 3 winners were picked. @daniel-otaniel was third with 16 votes, @edwin23 was second with 19 votes and @jesse12 was the first with 31 votes. He truly deserved to win and I hope he gets a musical contract very soon.

Without wasting time, @bookoons dropped digits for 9mobile airtime for the audience to recharge their 9mobile lines. @kristenantai01 won most of the airtimes dropped and she was happy. We moved on to the next show which was the Cupid Arrow. 4 couples were picked to participate; @sammiegold and @ifeoluwa88, @stevenmosoes and @seyiodus, @gbindinazeez and @itk4luv, @vikkyrich and nmalove. The guys were asked to drop a love proposal for the partners they have picked and the partners were told to either accept or reject the proposals.

@stevenmosoes started with:

I lay my love on you because everytime I breathe, I feel brand new. You open up my heart and my heart belong to you all the days of my life.

@sammiegold:

Like the breathing air I cannot do without, so are you Ifeoluwa to my existence. Just take my hand and let us go somewhere where no one would disturb and have a life time journey.

@gbindinazeez:

My favorite time of the day is when I am with you, I could fill a million pages with why I love you but I would rather spend all that time with you.

@vikkyrich:

My lovely darling,
I cherish you Wyne Oma,
I will bark over my lovely lover rivals,
Let our love hope and unity,
Hold parley with eternity.

After the guys’ proposals, @zizymena asked their partners to honestly reply to the proposals put out because that will determine who will win this part. These are the replies from the ladies:

@itk4luv:

There is a lot to say but silence had always been the best words. My heart pours same to you and I hope you treat me well.

@nmalove:

Vicky darling, people often say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I say that the most liberating thing is realizing that you are the beholder.

@seyiodus:

I will not want to seize your breath as it is very important for existing Steven, but I will appreciate your breath and keep it safe to never let it seize. As you are the life we want to live.

@ifeoluwa88:

For every song there is a note
For every noise, there is a sound
I am for you and you are mine
Let us go on this journey together.

The audience were the judges this time as they voted their favorite couples. @gbindinazeez and @itk4luv won the favorite couple with 22 votes and went home with lots of tokens. The next show was The Relationship Debate: Who is more romantic between guys and girls? The ladies presented @promzyelisha, @itk4luv and @seyiodus as their speakers while @apeximomen, @gbindinazeez and @wolfgang-alpha spoke on behalf of the guys. They all spoke well and the judges; @imransoudagar and @momogrow decided that the ladies won the debate. This means that girls are more romantic than guys due to “charity”.

After sharing of more recharge cards, it was time for treasure hunt. @zizymena gave instructions about the game and the audience went ahead with the treasure hunt. Eventually, @bookoons won the hunt and shared her win with her valentine partner; @wolfgang-alpha. This is exactly what valentine is about, sharing and giving. The next shows were riddles, guess of love songs and unscramble where several winners came up to win lot of gifts and tokens. The final show of the night was the lovers line up game.

There were lots of bottled messages and we made sure we read it all to the amazement of the audience. The vote of thanks came after, we appreciated everyone that attended the show. The turnup was massive and impressive. We are glad that everybody had fun and went home with gifts. A little bird even told me, new love partners emerged after the show.
