Today is August 14th, 2018, which makes that a little over 4 months I have been running a Whaleshares Block Producer / Witness node. I am happy to announce that my server has been updated to MainNet, THAT'S RIGHT - MAINNET, and everything is running smoothly.

Keep in mind we all need to Re-Vote for witnesses now, which is one of the most important things you can do to help guide the future of the platform. So be sure to do that when you have a moment.

📝 Who is PowerPics?

For those of you who do not know me yet, I have been actively involved in the Whaleshares Community since July of 2017. To be honest, it's hard to believe how fast the time has gone by and how much this amazing community, as well as my responsibilities within it have grown.

I am currently an Admin of the Official Whaleshares Discord (as well as a few other communities) and have taken on official team roles for the BeyondBitcoin Community which include: coordinating, promoting, and streaming most of our live events, admin/mods on all our discord and telegram channels, leading our EOSTalk, EOSIO, Bitshares, Telos, Smoke Network, and VIT community outreach teams, as well as creating and overseeing our weekly initiatives, bounties, and contests.

Along with my active community roles, I am proud to be a member of the Whaleshales Core Development and Launch Teams. It's been an incredible opportunity to be a part of the teams that are shaping the initial versions of the Whaleshares platform.

I recently passed my 1-year anniversary on Steemit which has given me valuable insight into the first use-case for crypto-backed social media and blogging platforms. During that time I have witnessed HF19 (Hard Fork), the disruption of the rewards payout model, the infamous "Whale Wars", followed by the even more infamous "Flag Wars", Bid Bot Battles, and the rise of project censorship (including Smoke and EOS) at the highest levels.

This experience has put me in a great position to help build and shape a new platform that spreads the distribution of rewards more fairly through proper governance to all the users, giving everyone a chance to grow and prosper.

I am here today, ready to serve the community as one of the very first Block Producer / Witnesses here on Whaleshares.

As I mentioned in my initial announcement post, I am honored to be a part of this team and trusted with the responsibilities I have been given, and very grateful for every opportunity it has given me. I have watched as Steemit, a platform I loved being a part of, was torn apart by greed and selfishness and will work together with the community leaders and top producers to ensure that mentality and behavior does not take root here on Whaleshares.

👍 As a Block Producer / Witness I will always put the well-being and stability of the Whaleshares DAC ahead of my personal gains within the system. I will continue to contribute my time, energy, skills and resources towards the common goals of providing a safe and tolerant community free of censorship, bullying, and 'circle-jerk' vote schemes. I will help guide the initial governance of the Whaleshares Blockchain and remain open-minded to future changes voiced by the community. You will also continue to see my involvement in our live events, community support and promotion, and outreach initiatives.

🔒 I have moved to a USA-based hosting provider for my witness servers and will continuously upgrade the server hardware and software as needed to stay ahead of the blockchain growth.
