Node Update

My witness node is still producing blocks and is doing exceptionally well only missing one block since the last state of the witnesses by @bushkill-witness.

I have plans in both upgrading my witness node and purchasing a backup server in the near future as suggested by other witnesses.

I would also like to express my deepest thanks to everyone who has voted for me as Witness. I promise to not waste your votes!

Hard Fork 1

September 1st is approaching fast and in line with this the development team has release v0.2.5 . This version will be the last update before September 1. This update includes the things that the development team wanted to included before September 1.

v0.2.5 includes

• Content Reward Term Extended to 14 Days (previously was set to 7days)
• MANA Use Rate for Rewarding set at 2% (Every time you reward someone you use up 2% MANA, MANA recharges 20% each day)
• 3X MANA Equivalent for Self-Rewarding Comments (Self rewarding your comments costs 3x MANA, same with flagging)
• Rewards Pool Unlocked

Claimed Whalestake

I am so excited to announce that I finally claimed my Whalestake (such a smooth and easy process by the way, props to the dev team!). During the snapshot I was probably holding around 6000+ Whaleshares, which was all earned from community works. With 6000+ Whaleshares I was able to get roughly around 50000+ Whalestake.

Why am I excited?

Because I can finally give back to the community! Back on Steemit I didn't have much power which made my upvote very unnoticeable, but on Whaleshares I can finally reward people for their hard work. This is also the main reason why I ran for Witness as well, because without the community Whaleshares would not be where it is today!

MIDAS ✊

Since I have around 50K Whalestake which in my opinion is enough to be able to help out people, I will also be making my own WhaleToken named MIDAS.

Why Midas?

Midas was a legendary king of Phrygia (in modern-day Turkey). In return for a good deed, he was granted one wish by the god Dionysus, and asked for the power to turn everything he touched into gold.

I initially wanted to name the WhaleToken as "Midas Touch", but realized it was a bit long so just used "Midas" instead.

Who can useMidas?

I wanted to be able to help out people from all around the world which is why Midas will not be limited to a specific niche.

When can we use Midas?

I will still be working out a few more details about Midas before I actually want to launch the WhaleToken. I'll update everyone once I've been able to finalize everything.
