WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE VICTORIOUS?

  1.   To be victorious means having achieved a victory, conquering or being triumphant or successful in life.

WHO IS A VICTORIOUS CHILD?
A victorious child is one that God has a plan for to live in accordance with His will and to enable Him fulfill His plan in his/her life. Jer 1:5
A victorious child triumphs or excels in whatever he/she does because the presence and the favour of God make the difference in his/her life Dan 6:3
A victorious child meditates and obeys the word of God so as to be prosperous and successful. Jos1:8 Do not let the book of the law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

HOW CAN A CHILD BECOME VICTORIOUS?
Victory does not come without adequate preparation and the mercy and favour of God. Rom 9:16, 1 peter 1:13 The following are the traits which victorious children must exhibit:

  1.   Must be trainable or teachable. Pro. 4:10-17
    
  2.   Must be disciplined pro, 3:11
    
  3.   Must be obedient eph 6:1-3
    
  4.   Must be humble 1 peter5:5-6
    
  5.   Must have the spirit of self control- Titus 2:6
    
  6.   Must not be equally yoked with unbelievers and must avoid sin like a plaque. 2 cor 6:14.
    

ROLES OF PARENTS IN PRODUCING VICTORIOUS CHILDREN.
The foundationgiven to a child that is, the upbringing by parents is a determinant factor to whether a child will be victorious or not. Pro 22:6 train a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not turn from it.

  1.   A child becomes victorious when he is nurtured in the way of the Lord. Pro 22:6
    
  2.   God fearing parents serve as role model to their children. The first teachers in life to a child are his/her parents whatever the course of the life of a child will be; largely depends on what a child is exposed to and learns as he/she grows up. The child must be taught to fear God ps 111:10.
    
  3.   Parents must teach their children, the word of the Lord on a regular basis. In times of trials and temptations, it is the knowledge of the word of God that keeps the children from falling Gen 39:1-10 A child becomes victorious when parents pray all manners of prayers for him/her without ceasing. A victorious child has a prayerful parents. 1 Thess 5:17 pray continually.
    
  4.   A child becomes victorious when parents discipline the child appropriately pro 19:18. Discipline your son for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to his death Heb 12:6
    
  5.   Parents provide for their children the basic needs of life and teach them how to work hard. Pro 31:15-17
    
  6.   Parents must teach the children to love unconditionally. 1 jn 4:7-12
    
  7.   Parents must live by example. In everything set them an example by by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us, Titus 2:7-8
    

Children must be taught to be humble through the teaching of the word of God and by learning the act of genuine humility from their parents prov 22:4

BIBLICAL EXAMPLE OF A VICTORIOUS CHILD AND HIS ATTRIBUTES – DANIEL

He studied and understood the word of God Dan 9:2
A man of understanding and wisdom Dan 1:19-20

He was a fearless man who served and obeyed God with passion. Dan 6:5
He prayed and praised God regularly and passionately Dan 2:18-23
He deliberately avoided group of sinners but made fellow believers his friends Dan 2: 48-49
He was diligent, hardworking, obedient, truthful and trustworthy, Dan 6:3
He had unweaving faith in God. Dan 6: 21-22
He maximized the use of his God given gift of dream interpretation to save souls with all humility Dan 2:27-28.
Though in slavery, he did not deny the only living God in face of adversity. He knew who he was and would not defile himself not for any reason. Dan 1:8
Finally, luke 2:52 And Jeesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Victorious children increase in stature as they grow up.
Victorious children increase in wisdom, they learn about God and His will.
Victorious children increase in favour with God; they develop a relationship with Jesus.
Victorious children are saved to serve God to the end.
Victorious children reign with Jesus in victory.
