The Misery of The Bible - 4 (Holiness)
Hello readers, followers, and friends. I greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. if you have been following me on this topic The Misery of The Bible, you will get to understand some little but important things about the Word of God. If you have not been following the series, you can click on @seyiodus to view my blog and there you can get to read the other episodes.
When I am talking about the misery of the Bible, the long and short of it is Holiness. Yes, this is the biggest misery of the Bible. Everything that is written in the bible is pointing us towards God; his way and will. God is holy and those that want to get to his kingdom must be holy. It's a must not maybe.
Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. - 2 Corinthians 7:1
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” - 1 Peter 1:15-16
This is all that is required of us as a believer of Christ that we are holy. You might be thinking that it's not a misery but I want to tell you that it is in this present world we are in. Even a Christian find it difficult to live a holy life. It takes the grace of God and the full focus of where we are aiming as a child of God.
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. - 2 Timothy 1:9
So, therefore, we must live a holy life which is the good and perfect will of God for our lives. Don't miss this series as I will be talking about how we can live a holy life and how we can work in accordance with God's will. This is where I am going to be stopping today.
Have a lovely week ahead.
Stay blessed.
