MAKE THE LEAP, OR AT LEAST START THE PLAN...DO IT NOW!!! INCLUDES WITNESS SHOUTOUT TO AN AWESOME GUY

This post started life as a comment to the awesome community empowering @intelliguy who is the solid standup guy who runs the @intelliwitness witness account. But it became so long that I thought hey, this could be a post that thanks the guy in a really public way. It starts as a response, morphs into a rambling set of discombobulated ideas and then share some principles for success and life...I digress A LOT!

Here is the post that he oh-so kindly wrote

Firstly...ThankYOU so much for this...Humbling, does not even begin to describe the way I feel right now 😀

There is an almost ironic timing to this lovely endorsement. It comes immediately after my writing a basics post on setting goals and daring to dream, which is a topic I am soon to explore here massively. The reason I have embarked upon this series of "You can too" posts is because I have, in the last few days reached a decision...

I have actually set a date on which I WILL retire from working for a faceless corporate entity...I am a grunt working 12 hour shifts, days and nights in a factory and if I may share a secret...I yearn for so much more from life, I believe I have become lazy and settled and at the age of 46, like so many others, almost given up.

October 29th 2019 is that magical day!

To those that know me in the ((so called)) real world, this sounds like crazy pipe dream, I am working class ordinary guy, I have zero savings and my job basically helps me to "make ends meet" I live from payday to payday but you know something? I no longer care about mere debilitating, no possibility, limiting facts like this.

I always believed wholeheartedly that my destiny lay in the pursuit of helping others to achieve their full potential. that potential for most in my humble opinion is usually so, so much more than they are able to perceive whilst feeling trapped in limited thinking that is imposed by life, and so often also by our own psyche.

Resignation to mediocrity comes with it's own rewards, after all you no longer need to strive or stretch yourself to be more, to do more. This frees up the boundless and infinite potential of your mind for more important pursuits like going to the pub, watching TV and moaning about how life is unfair, right?

I guess it becomes easy and safe for any of us to decide that maybe it is too late to really go for the big stuff and settle for the small wins from life...But you know, I realised something thanks to all of my wonderful new friends on the blockchain.

THIS IS BULL!!!

Wherever you find yourself in life right now is irrelevant! What your mind can conceive and fashion for a future life, YOUR FUTURE LIFE, is exponentially more than you could even begin to imagine right now, but it takes a decision...

But here is the rub!

Without that firm, committed decision that actually resonates and swells deep within your chest when you think of it absolutely nothing can or will change, unless you count a stroke of dumb luck. None of us ever want to leave something as magnificent and empowering as our hopes dreams and aspirations down to something as sloppy and indiscriminate as luck, right?

Don't merely read this account of one of my plans and goals and think, "Well isn't that swell" Take it as a timely opportunity to conduct a quick inventory of your life and take the journey with me.

  • What would you love to achieve?
  • Who would you love to be?
  • Where would you like life to take you?
  • What are you willing to give to this pursuit for liberation and joyous happiness?

What is that you say Steven...

"What am I willing to GIVE?"

Oh yes dear reader, you my friend are gonna have to make some sacrifices to achieve this glorious new job, body, life, world travel, altruistic endeavour...You are gonna have to form some new habits, adopt some empowering mindshet shifts...

BUT!

If you could share a quick conversation with this alternate future version of you, they would tell you that the price was one they were happy to pay. This new dynamic you would probably say "I wish I had made the quantum leap sooner." however the timing does not matter, I must ask you a forthright question that demands an answer, it may make you squirm in your seat a little.

When would NOW be a great time to start defining some clear plans for achieving the almost nirvana-like status of living life on YOUR terms and being all that YOU are capable of being?

After all, what have you got to lose? More importantly, you have the potential to gain a whole lot more Juice from life.

Now what if you are reading this and you are perfectly happy with your life and your place on this little spinning blue and green orb that we inhabit...That's AWESOME you are already winning at the game of life, go directly to the epic grand-hall of success do not pass go do not collect, misery disappointment and regrets. There is no joy to be received from relentlessly pursuing more, more, more, especially concerning financial rewards, that is actually, I believe, the road to ruin and a great way to become the richest workaholic in the graveyard!

Make no mistake, this post is not about financial gain, although it could be, the pursuit of money is neither good nor bad. The important thing is what you want that money for...If I made a million, ten million, a hundred million I would have the capacity to drastically alter the lives of some of the most impoverished people on the planet so I would obviously feel no guilt , only pride about amassing such a vast fortune.

Actually I just revealed what I believe to be one of the major rules for life. Money has no inherent emotion and should not have too many emotions and feelings attached to it. Greed, envy, pride, hate, esteem are all resultant in somebody believing money would make them better, more respected or proud etc.

I once read or heard somewhere that money is a tool for magnification, when a person receives a lot of money it magnifies their values, morals ideals and character, highlights exactly who they are in unforgiving, glaring detail. Money can be used for great good or great bad in the world.
