Every time you have to speak, you are auditioning for leadership.

That quote is so true. I knew from the moment I read the first post from @kingblack that he was destined to become someone special for the Venezuelan community and a voice for them here on Whaleshares.

The first post that I read of his was titled The Saddest Christmas: A Country in Crisis and an Empty Wallet. In the post he speaks about how, in Venezuela, the economy has been destroyed and people are fighting to survive on an average of around 7 US dollars a month. 7 dollars.... Let that soak in for a moment.... I cannot even fathom trying to survive off of $7 a month, when yesterday I went to see a movie with my daughter and my soda alone was nearly $7.

I have known many Venezuelans over the past year since I started on Steemit and I had become good friends with a few of them. One of them is a photographer and she told me about a university professor that worked for 30 years teaching at a university level in Venezuela and when he retired because he couldn't afford to keep teaching, his final paycheck was equivalent to $2.50 for the month. That is with a PhD.

There is a lot going on in Venezuela that the rest of the world does not know of, mainly because the Venezuelan people are a proud people and do not want to share the story of the daily struggle that they face. I contacted @kingblack on discord and told him that it is important that the rest of the world knows what is going on in Venezuela. The way he writes has so much truth and passion behind it, that he is becoming a voice and a leader for the Venezuelan community here on the platform. I am hoping that he can be built up to be able to support others that are in similar situations as him.

The picture above is from a recent post of his where he explains that the money he is holding is the largest banknote in the country, but it has been devalued so much that its worth is only enough to buy a small tangerine. It used to be worth around $100 USD prior to the economy collapsing in Venezuela.

This is where the power of Whaleshares and the other platforms such as these come in. These platforms are giving people the ability to take charge of their future and earn a living. @kingblack has explained in many posts the impact of WLS has had on his small family's life. He has even broken down what 100 WLS would be able to buy for a family in Venezuela:

So what can we buy with 100 WLS in Venezuela, today January 11, 2019.
You could buy the following products:

2 kilograms of Meat. (100 WLS)

2 kilograms of Cheese. (100 WLS)

4 kilograms of rice. (100 WLS)

4 kilograms of corn flour. (100 WLS)

2 kilograms of tomato (100 WLS)

That would be the basics and with regard to personal hygiene items, you could buy:

3 Toothpaste. (100 WLS)

6 Bath soaps. (100 WLS)

2 Shampoo. (100 WLS)

2 Deodorant. (100 WLS)

Cryptocurrency is changing lives around the world and is giving people the ability to survive when their government is failing them. The Venezuelan government has failed its people, but I am grateful for the Whaleshares platform being in place to help people like @kingblack to give a future to him, his wife and his baby boy.

What a fantastic surprise and what an honor for me to give me this beautiful introduction.

From the day I speak with you as a discord, I can not imagine the impact you would have on my way through the Whaleshares community, you are one of the very few people who have trusted me and taken the time to get to know me and create A bond of friendship, I am honored to have the opportunity to have known you and have the happiness of calling you friend and brother.

People like you are the ones who will make this world a better place, I know that God will fill you with blessings and that eternal love, every day I give thanks for your friendship and support, as I have already told you, you are my angel of the guard and I know that in the future you will be proud of the cases that I will do for the community and for my country.

Brother thousand and a thousand thanks for everything, I love you dearly, May God bless you. @derangedvisions

·

You are more than welcome. You are a great person and deserve a large audience. You will be able to do so much for people.

·
·

Thank you brother, that's what I dream, a better world, I know that very soon I will be fulfilling that dream that I have, every day I see it closer and it is thanks to you. :)

@derangebvisions is the sad reality that we are going through in our country but faith, that things will change soon nothing is eternal

·

It will be okay brother, I hope to see more of your people adopting Crypto Currency, That is going to put a big help to the country as you will have a good means to settle some stuff with earnings.

There is a quote here in Nigeria that "If you think your father has the biggest farm, it is likely because you haven't visited another person father farm''

I used to think that Nigerian are suffering from bad leadership but just now, I realize we are better to some country.

May the Lord help me in any way that will put a smile on his face.

@kingblack is indeed an account to be watched. His posts are a unique look into the lives of people in Venezuela in a day by day manner that allows people to see what is truly going on. Most people in the world just know Venezuela is having currency issues but they do not know much more or that the problem multiplies over and over.

I am learning a lot from him and think he has the right mindset to be a cornerstone in his community and do a lot of great things for people in Venezuela using whaleshares and other crypto in a manner to allow the users from Venezuela live a somewhat normal life regardless of the state in which Venezuela is currently in.

Great spotlight, I see his value already as you do and I hope more people see it and give support not only where it is needed but also where it is deserved.

·

Wow thank you. It is an honor for me to have friends like you, I really did not imagine that within this community I would receive so much love, and that has me hallucinating and full of happiness.

I am a normal man like any other, who only seeks to bring real information of what is happening in Venezuela, I know that other parts of the world go through worse situations like war or famine and that is a thousand times worse than what is happening in Venezuela .

But this medium is the perfect place to share this information and for the world to take the time to look towards Venezuela and see that we are a country that struggles and hopes to succeed, where every day we get up with our hearts in our hands and the faith that we will soon be a prosperous country that fights and loves the land where it was born.

·
·

This is the exact type of community that has the power to change lives. It's an honor for us to have you here sharing with feet on the ground. It is easy for most people to ignore the things they cannot see. I hope your posts get read by more people who are clueless to the standard of living many places are suffering from. The more people who take the time to look will understand that they can truly make an impact in the lives of others for free and giving people the basic of life everyone should have access to no matter where they live.

·
·
·

That's right, I've met people who have asked me what I could do at the moment with 100 STEEM or 100 SBD, and I tell them a lot, that's a big help that they could buy food for 30 days, and they're surprised, with so little we can do much here in Venezuela, the same thing happens when I mention that with 360 WLS is the minimum wage in my country.

Crypto coins and this type of platform can change the lives of millions of people with the push of a button.

·
·
·
·

That is the main reason most of the people I know personally have gotten into crypto. Things would be much more amazing if the majority of people who have joined in just the last two years were more concerned with the power of cryptocurrency and were not just focused on making a dollar.

·
·
·
·
·

You are very right and every day we must see more towards the future, and give more value to this world that with a single click we can achieve great things.

One day at a time is how we need to do things as we put our heads together and figure out new ways to make things grow. We can all use Steemit as an example of how to make things fail and what not to repeat. It will be the new ideas, minds and wallets that were earned that will make the changes for the normal users moving forward.

Thank you for doing this. I also think that @kingblack is a good person to follow on Whaleshares. His writing and presentation is good, despite having to deal with a very difficult economic situation.

Together, we can experiment with ways that may help in the long run. Right now, we can certainly socially support people like him and others and give rewards and liquid WLS. I also want to find longer term solutions, too, and I'll be talking with @kingblack about that to get his perspective.

I hope many people act on your recommendation and follow @kingblack.

·

Thank you for such kind words of support, I just want to contribute to the community and do the best to make your ecosystem productive.

The problem in my country is a tough situation, but that does not stop me from continuing to work and carrying my bit to see the world better.

·

I hope so as well. Thanks for your support to him also. He is a great person.

Great posts from him, he post happening in the society, the struggles, what we see and what we dont see, he is a prolific writer, would be following up his posts

I just read his latest post, it is really sad to see the situation in Venezuela first hand. I honestly didn't know it was that bad.

Followed him. Thanks for sharing his profile with us. Mutual sharing is great and we should always support in whatever way we can each other.

I indeed think that half the world don't know what is going on in Venezuela. I have seen some people on Steemit for some months aga, unimaginable….
I will follow him and support him where I can. Thanks for sharing and caring...

I read this story and the first hand experience with hyper inflation. It is a crazy experience for sure. To see crypto helping in voice and with needs is inspiring!

·

I agree. Crypto is working miracles around the world in places like this.

This is fantastic. Over on steemit I have quite a few Venezuelans that stop through and visit on my posts from time to time. I hope whaleshares can help them get the much-needed food and supplies they need.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have just followed also I am from Venezuela this is the reality of what is lived here every day @kingblack is responsible for explaining it very well, without pages like these I think you could not survive in this country where the devaluation of our money is getting bigger

·

Do you have discord community? If not, create one

·
·

of course friend I have my discord

you are much welcomed!

So sad what is going on down there.

Oh my gosh .. I knew things were bad in Venezuela but not that bad! .. Craziness! .. It makes me want to go and vote exclusively on posts by people from there! My share is worth ~20WLS at the moment, an amount that can actually really make a difference in their lives! .. Is there a tag being used by Venezuelans?

·

Yes, They should continue using a common tag, that will enable us to support them all without centralizing on just only one person

·
·

100% agreed! ... It looks like @derangedvisions and @kingblack are already working on something and they'll probably have a tag ^-^ ... I guess looking for some of the spanish community tags will also land you on many Venezuelans' posts.

·

I am working with @kingblack right now on something pretty cool that should be released in the next few days. It will be something for voting and curating communities like the Venezuelan community.

·
·

Very nice! .. Looking forward to seeing that - And glad to see you're eeking back into the community, man ;) .. Knew you wouldn't be able to stay away for long ;P

I am from Venezuela and our family goes through very difficult times I come to WHALESHARES for a friend and I hope to give the best of myself both to myself and to others. God bless you.

I have been following the Venezuela story. He has particular caught my eye of late. We can do more. We can affect change.
