When a team is performing at its best, you'll usually find that each team member has clear responsibilities. Just as importantly, you'll see that every role needed to achieve the team's goal is being performed fully and well.

But often, despite clear roles and responsibilities, a team will fall short of its full potential.

• Shapers are people who challenge the team to improve.
• They are dynamic and extroverted people who enjoy stimulating others and questions the norm.
• They often see obstacles as exciting challenges and tend to have the courage to push on when others give up.

They are argumentative and they may offend people's feelings.

Implementer (IMP)

• They are people getting things done.
• They turn the team ideas and concepts into practical actions and plans.
• They are typical conservative, discipline, systematic and efficient, and well organized.
• They are people who can count on to get result done

• They are inflexible and somewhat resistant to change.

Completer-Finisher (CF)

• They are the one that ensure that projects are carried out thoroughly.
• They pay attention to the smallest details.
• The are very concerned with deadlines.
• They are perfectionist and are very orderly.

• They find it hard to delegate

People Oriented Roles.

Coordinator (CO)
• They are mostly referred to as chairman.
• They guide the team to what they percieve as the objectives.
• They are good listeners.

Team workers (TW)

• They provide support to the team they are working with efficiently.
• They tend to be popular people and help team members to get along.
• They are flexible, diplomatic and also perceptive.

They may have a tendency to be indecisive and to maintain uncommitted positions.

Resource Investigator. (RI)

• They are innovative, curious.
• They are goal getters.
• They are enthusiastic team members who identity and work with external stakeholders to help the team accomplished its

Thought oriented roles

plants (PL)
• They are creative innovators.
•They are introverted and prefer to work apart from the team.
• They thrive on praise and have novel ideas.

Monitor Evaluator (ME)

• They analyze ideal.
• They are critical thinkers.
• They are shrewd, objective and they carefully weigh pros and cons of all option before coming to a decision.

• Poor motivators

Specialist (SP)

• They are specialized or expertise knowledge needed in getting job done.
• They pride themselves on their skills
and abilities and work to maintain professional status.

• They limit contributions d lead to preoccupation with technicalities at the expense of bigger picture
