I think David Moyes deserved the manager of the season for what he had done with West Ham for the just concluded season. What a moment in history for West Ham, to qualify for Europe after such a long time. They pushed so well for UEFA Champions League spot but it wasn't to be and they had to settle for the Europa League.

It has been a successful season for West Ham by miles with amazing results they got along the way and a reward for European competition, something Everton tried to push for but missed on. The introduction of Jesse Lingard helped their cause, no doubt and it made light of the loss of Declan Rice to injury earlier in the season.

West Ham hosted Southampton and they took the lead after a brilliant effort to wiggle his way through inside the box by Bowen. The goalkeeper saved his shot but Fornals was quick to react to the rebound and smashed home the ball into the back of the net, 1-0 right in front of the Hammers' fans.

They were 2 goals up in no time again as Cornell tried from the byline to pick out Fornals. Fornals expertly took his shot and scored yet again. The 3rd goal came after Lingard did his best to send Declan Rice through on goal from the byline. Rice went all the way and got rewarded with a goal after he took his shot calmly and with accuracy too.

The game ended 3-0 and European football is back to the Hammers. It remains to be seen if Declan Rice would not be poached away by the big clubs that want his signature and it is undecided what the decision of the sensational Lingard would be, if he would be staying with the Hammers or go back to Manchester United. David Moyes has made known his intention to keep both players but as we all know, in football, nothing is ever certain as a lot can change at any given time.

Congratulations to West Ham and they would have to strengthen their squad to be able to accommodate the increased fixtures for next season.
