Liverpool travelled to Budapest to play RB Leipzig in the second leg encounter after winning the first leg by 2 goals on the same ground. Liverpool only needs a draw or lose by just 1 goal to qualify but they qualified spectacularly when they won by 2 goals again at home with Salah and Mane getting the goals again as they did in the first leg encounter.

Liverpool didn't take their league form to this encounter as they have lost 6 home games but this win confirms they are unbeaten in their last 12 meetings with German oppositions. They have won 9 times and only drew 3 times. This is also the first time RB Leipzig would lose back to back games in the Champions League but the second time in European competitions.

Leipzig started well and went from defence to attack in the 10th minute but for the brilliance of Alisson, Olmo would have given the lead to Leipzig. In the 19th minute, Diogo Jota had his header saved by the goalkeeper from a brilliant delivery from Arnold right from the corner.

In the 23rd minute, Liverpool also went from defence to attack from Leipzig's freekick. Salah was sent through by a brilliant Thiago's volley and while being one on one with the goalkeeper, he couldn't get his effort to beat the goalkeeper as he expertly saved it and Mane also missing the follow-up to get the ball into the back of the net. How they missed this chance is beyond me. Confidence is really low for Liverpool.

In the 54th minute, Jota was also played through but the goalkeeper also saved his effort. The follow-through came to Salah and he shockingly blasted his effort over the bar.

In the 65th minute, Leipzig had a golden chance to stay ahead in this tie but the header from a lovely cross could only rattle the crossbar. Thiago cleared and it fell to Olmo whose attempt didn't threaten the goalkeeper at all. It went over the bar. Huge relief for Liverpool there.

The moment of magic came for Liverpool in the 70th minute when Mane found Jota, who brilliantly cut it out for Salah. Salah moved into the box, cut inside as produced a lovely finish to give his side the lead and make it 3-0 on aggregate. Liverpool produced another beautiful goal in the 73rd minute when Origi's lovely ball into the box was met by Mane and all he did was to apply the finish to make it 2-0 and that's 4-0 on aggregate to condemn RB Leipzig to be knocked out of the competition.

Liverpool booked their place in the Quarter Finals of the Uefa Champions League to join Porto, Dortmund and PSG. It keeps getting interesting.
