West Ham hosted Leicester City and West Ham would hope to continue the impressive form that saw them climb into 4th place last week and a win again would see them go back there, displacing Chelsea who displaced Liverpool earlier and Leicester City wouldn't want to lose more grounds on Manchester United in second place. It has been billed to be a wonderful and exciting match.

The chances were few as both teams played with caution and even though they both showed attacking intent, there was no real threat to the two goalkeepers.

But in the 29th minute, Lingard demonstrated his rejuvenated form by scoring spectacularly. A gathered the ball just outside the box and he produced a beautiful curling effort into the back of the net. There is no stopping this guy. What a classy finish. What a goal. That was brilliant. Almost out of nothing and he produced a moment of individual brilliance to give West Ham the lead.

In the 38th minute, West Ham wasted another glorious chance to add to their tally after Lingard found Coufal. He wasted too much time in deciding who to give it to but by the time he found Lingard from a tight angle, Ndidi already made it difficult to shoot and his shot didn't threaten that much any longer. That was a huge let-off for Leicester City.

The second goal eventually came in the 44th minute when Bowen broke through and he unselfishly found the trailing Lingard. Lingard only had to slot the ball into the empty net. What a performance from West Ham. Lingard has been a revelation for West Ham. He has been sensational. That was his 8th goals in almost 9 games on loan from Manchester United to West Ham.

The first half ended with West Ham racing to a 2-0 lead. The second half started as the first half ended with West Ham making it 3-0 in the 49th minute after Lingard found Soucek and unselfishly as well, he found Bowen who blasted it home. It was becoming embarrassing for Leicester City at this point.

In the 54th minute, West Ham thought they have gotten a 4th when Lingard found Diop at the far post to head home with the help of the upright but the VAR correctly ruled it for offside.

Leicester City had chances of their own with Albrighton and Ndidi but nothing came out of their efforts in a bid to reduce their deficit. In the 70th minute, Iheanacho gave hope to Leicester City when Ricardo won the ball and his effort laid the pass to Iheanacho who expertly turned and unleashed a lovely shot that found its way into the back of the net to make it 3-1. Ricardo should have given his side the second goal after he exchanged passes with Tielemans. He found himself in the box and tried to round off the goalkeeper but Fabianski stopped him expertly without giving any foul away. What a moment that would have been for Leicester City.

Iheanacho got his second goal and also the second for Leicester City when he latched on to a cross from Albrighton in the 91st minute. The game was an intense finale as Leicester City threw everything at West Ham but came short. The game ended 3-2 with West Ham back in the top 4 and just a point behind Leicester City in 3rd place.
