Chelsea would no doubt be less than pleased that they have to go up ahead Manchester United so early in this competition. Their anger no doubt would be completed by the fact that the red devils are currently in blistering form at the moment.

Chelsea is a team in disarray. When the season started, there were hopes that Chelsea along with Liverpool would be the main threat to Manchester City’s titles. However, such hopes have gone up in flames. Chelsea has faced a tough time in the league so far. They currently sit 6th in the league table. This has been more frustrating due to their heavy loss against Defending champions. They have no be granted any relief with a match against Manchester United set to test their limits yet again. Chelsea would surely be hoping that Higuaín who is on loan right now would be a confidence booster and would ensure that they get off on the right foot when this match begins.

Manchester United have been lifelines in this season that they cannot afford to throw away. After falling almost 10 points behind the top four, they are suddenly in a wonderful position to play champions league football next season. However, they have crashed back to reality after their interim coach Ole fell to his first loss when they played host to PSG in the champions league. They would be hoping that this is merely a blip and would not affect them when they visit Stanford bridge tomorrow. Manchester United would no doubt be aware of how quickly things can change and would be eager to ensure they get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

When it comes to the form of both teams, there is very little to choose from. Chelsea has won four of their six games. However, the two losses have come in heavy defeats. In just those two games, they have conceded 10 goals. Chelsea would be disappointed on their recent exploits. A win against Manchester United in the FA cup would go a long far in convincing them of their own quality. It remains to be seen how they would measure up to Manchester United.

Manchester United, on the other hand, was looking quite invincible until the recent defeat to PSG. They have won four of their last six games. The other matches have ended in one draw and a loss. They would be glad to have the services of Paul Pogba back in the team after his sending off against PSG. This match really could decide who goes trophyless this season even though Chelsea are still in the Europa league.

It is surely going to be extra-spicy.
