It is always intriguing when a team starts the season all guns blazing and maintains a winning streak. They become the object of fascination in the EPL as teams and pundits alike wonder how long they can keep it up before they eventually draw a match. This season, there is a shortage of teams who can afford us that luxury and that list is about to be brought to one. The stage is Anfield as Arsenal would be preparing for their biggest test so far this season when they take us the formidable Liverpool. It is one match which can end in a classic.

Liverpool

Liverpool would have been delighted to see all their potential rivals drop point’s just two matches into the season. Liverpool went the entire season last time out with just a single loss and that loss came to Manchester City. There were also unbeatable at home with just one draw to Manchester City. They also conceded the least number of goals in the league. That is a terrifying statistic for anyone who is about to meet them. They are truly an excellent team to behold. They would be facing a new-look Arsenal who would be determined to prove that they are no pushovers this season. The previous encounter between both teams in Anfield ended with Liverpool thrashing Arsenal 5-1 on the day. Liverpool would be itching to repeat that same feat here.

Arsenal

Arsenal has a buzzing mood around them at the moment and deservedly so. The early signs from their summer signing indicate that they could be in for a great season. They have also managed to keep one clean sheet already this season matching their records for clean sheets away from home the entire season. Dan Ceballos and Nicolas Pepe have been a revelation and their board has indicated that they would be proactive when the transfer window kicks off in January. It is truly a wonderful time to be a gunner. However, that feeling could soon dissipate with a heavy loss against Liverpool. This would largely be considered to be their first challenge to see just how much they measure up to the other teams on the block.

Form

The similar form would just lead to more heightened tensions and this is exactly the situation. It is three wins for Liverpool, a loss and two draws in six games. It is the same record that Arsenal has come into this game. They have both been perfect so far but it seems that perfection is about to end for at least one of these teams.

For Arsenal, a draw at Anfield would be a perfect result for them as they still have the opportunity to welcome the Reds to their home later this season. For the Liverpool faithful, nothing less than a win would be seen as a missed opportunity to take advantage of the slip which Manchester City afforded them last time out. These are very exciting times in the premier league.
