Shanghai Greenland Shenhua's forward and retired Super Eagle's striker, Odion Ighalo, Lille's Victor Osimhen and Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi are the three Nigerian footballers that grace the list, after a splendid display of class in their respective clubs and in the country's colours.

Odion Ighalo retired from international football after helping the Super Eagles to win third place in the African Cup of Nations Championship this year, where he also won the golden boot, after netting a total of five goals during the tournament.

Despite having limited play time in the Super Eagles team till Ighalo's retirement, Victor Osimhen makes the list after a prolific display in Sporting Charleroi and Lille. Ndidi's inclusion is also not a surprise, following an outstanding performance in Leicester City who appear to be in great contention in the English League.
