Located behind the Arctic Circle in Yakutia, the coldest part of Siberia, the city of Verkhoyansk is hugged by frosts hard to imagine for an ordinary mortal for half a year. The temperature falls to minus 60 degrees every winter, but sometimes it gets even colder.
The lowest temperature recorded is minus 67.8 degrees (1892)

On Saturday (20.06) the temperature measured at the official meteorological station was equal to 38.0 degrees. This is not only a new temperature record for the whole year, but also for June.

The long-term amplitude thus increased from 105.4 to 105.8. It is also the absolute temperature record ever measured after the Arctic Circle. It's hard to believe that he was recorded just at the cold pole.
