Fourteen or Fifteen Beast Posts? *Did I Miss The Memo???*

"True happiness comes from the joy of deeds well done, the zest of creating things new."
- Antoine de Saint-Exupery -

I checked #thebeast spreadsheet today...

And now I'm bummed!

Somehow, I seem to have missed the memo that the target was fifteen posts.

Why did I think it was fourteen? Am I too late for this to count as a 15th post? Is there no hope of redemption? Must I start all over again in four months to try and conquer #thebeast?

I thought my closing post about the jewelry box was the coup de grâce... I thought I had conquered "The Savage Beast" challenge... I have commented my heart out... And, I would have submitted one more article had I only known! 😮

The story of my life?

Even if I am now a day late and a dollar short, I am writing this summary review, and submitting it as my 15th Savage Beast post.

I started strong!

My first Beast piece was about our walk-in showers. It relates an original design that has saved my wife countless hours of shower door scrubbing and shower curtain washing. Gentlemen, your wife needs showers like this!

I wrote about my wife's Christmas present.

This turned into a three-part maker series describing how I built her a fireplace mantel:

I began a series about my Lunar Racer.

Fear not,

The third and what I hope will be the final article in this series is in the works, and will appear here soon... Stay tuned!

In a slight departure from my usual "Maker" theme,

I published this short piece of speculative fiction. It was a response to an @laureate "Ultra Flashblast" prompt.

The story is a Theological Fantasy,

set in the recreated universe that Jesus/God has promised in the bible. For additional background on this (presently) fictional universe, you may enjoy reading:

For my next post,

I described in detail how I added a battery pack to a BBC micro:bit computer.

Part of an ongoing series,

this article is intended to encourage makers to experiment with the very cool micro:bit device.

Next, another Ultra Flashblast.

This was a "Beast Special" intended to be 250 words toward the 300 word post requirement of #thebeast.

Are you an active part of the Whaleshares economy?

In this next entry for #thebeast, I threw my hat into the ring in a bid to become an active member. Along with other Whalesharians, I wish to encourage the development of a thriving economy in WLS.

Happily,

my article drew tremendous and encouraging support and response. A number of people who were unaware of the benefits of colloidal silver heard about it for the first time, and now have an opportunity to learn about it for themselves.

Rather unhappily, however,

the post seemed to strike a nerve. It stirred up not a little controversy. Someone objected strongly to my presentation, and made a number of as yet unsubstantiated accusations of fraud and allegations that I had presented a hoax.

In defense of SILVERengines,

I was compelled to respond with this rebuttal article.

The use of colloidal silver to combat disease is not a hoax or a fraud. It is not stupid. There is no "mob mentality" involved. A vast literature comprising hundreds of academic research papers (here are a few) supports the safety and effectiveness of silver in medicine.

If anything,

the poorly supported emotional reaction to my original article seems more consistent with "mob mentality" than the behavior of millions of happy users of colloidal silver.

Staying with the silver theme,

I wrote what became a two-part article describing how I learned about colloidal silver, why I tried it myself for the first time, how I learned to make it at home, and why I developed a high-tech device to automate making it.

Then finally,

in what I hoped would be a strong finish for #thebeast, I wrote an article with almost two dozen original images of a jewelry box that I made as a wedding gift for my wife.

When it comes to sculpture,

I consider this jewelry box to be my magnum opus.

I thought I was done with #thebeast.

I guess I was wrong! But I am done-done now for sure.

To all of you, my friends both old and new, a hearty THANK YOU for sticking with me throughout the last couple of weeks. I greatly appreciate all of your kind and encouraging comments, all the discussions we have had or have begun in comments below articles, and all your votes and shares in support of my work here.

A special thanks to the @lexiwitness team for their beastly leadership and strong support of all participants.

I am truly glad that I took on the challenge and engaged The Beast!

And, as I sign my comments from time to time, in true "Whale-Beast" form, I shall encourage you to...

Spout on!
