Hurtful Weeds.

"But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Matthew 15.13" Though in the corn that waves around
Are thorns, and many hurtful weeds,
That spring in even goodly ground
And planted thick with choicest seeds; Though in our hearts, however taught
And trained to guard themselves from sin,
The good is mixed with evil thought
Our enemy has sown therein, God's planting shall not be o'er-thrown
By worldly weeds that cling about
His corn; and what He hath not sown
Shall in His time be rooted out. Then, that our lives may yield their fruit,
Still let it be our constant prayer,
That God from out our hearts will root
All seeds He hath not planted there.
