A Nightmare

Selling that lie of a ruse,
To march across the kingdom,
Slipping down the downhill of evil,
Is it all that lies within?

Chanting in the distance,
Sneaking through the woods to us,
It made the mortals tremble,
We were no exception.

An army down in the valley,
Battle shields up in the air,
Clattering with the stones,
Putting one step ahead of another.

Crying,
Running,
Far away,
The sound did not fade,
It did not.
