WHAT AILED THE KING?

What ailed the king,
That he danced the dance of tale,
But forgot and left out the tail.
The lie and life of the sage,
Is all but a fake?
The lie and life of the Queen,
In all her splendour and grace,
Is all a reverie from yonder,
Say says the sage of the time.
In the isle and dark of the wind,
When oft the king in his wings,
Danced the tale of sway,
Say it's a given grace,
And yet, and then, it was in ace.
Dancing the dirge from the isle,
Says yet, it is a paean.
The dance and dirge,
Which all they sang,
Were now of the nile,
Saying yet, it is a farce,
What ailed then the king?
And that of his Queen?
That ceased them from their path?
