From Atop Cley Hill - Beautiful Britain
I was playing with some of my oldest pictures today, needing a bit of a low-key day, I guess.
When I lived in England, one of the places I spent the most time was in Warminster, Wiltshire. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, it was fairly easy to get inspired to take pictures of the surroundings - when weather permitted, anyway!
Cley Hill is a chalk Iron Age hill fort about 1.5 miles West of Warminster. I've climbed it twice.
This particular time, I was actually 2 months pregnant with my elder daughter when the mood struck me to climb Cley Hill. My sons would have ranged from 9 to 4 at the time - though they were very well used to lots of exercise thanks to their father.
Still, this one was probably a bit more than we bargained for, but we made it!
I only have a couple of decent shots from this foray. (The later time had many more exciting photos.)

I almost featured this one as a photo salvage as the dreary day made for a poor image to begin with, but with a few adjustments on Photoscape, the colors really pop out.
The second picture was actually taken first - on our way up the hill on the switchbacks.
Here is a map of Cley Hill. There is even a small Wikipedia article about the site.
Photos taken by myself in 2006 with my Vivitar point-and-shoot.
