Almost A Full Moon
It's kind of funny, but when my husband asks, "Honey, have you got a minute?" I know that I need to stop work and pay attention to him.
Tonight he told me to grab my camera and take a look at the moon. It's Thanksgiving Eve and the full moon is tomorrow, but as my luck goes, any time there is a cool celestial event, it's usually overcast or raining. This was my opportunity to go outside and snap a few photos.
Canon PowerShot SX1iS
I really don't know enough about this camera to use it properly. I've got no idea what all the functions are. Simply put, I have the manual but I've never put in the time to read it and study photography. I'm hoping that I can carve time to work with Wes (aka @derangedvisions) and participate in the Pixel Perfect classes -- but time and life kind of get in the way.
Anyway...
The first shot was taken using the night setting (I think)
I had the camera on a tripod so I could keep it steady and I put the telescopic zoom to max.
This second photo captures the clouds better than the moon but I really like the halo effect.
This third photo is what the sky looked like from my front patio. I had snapped a bunch of photos trying to get the moon into focus but that was an epic fail.
I've got an eye on an old 35mm camera
The last time I was at the thrift store they had a couple of old 35mm cameras. I've been tempted to purchase one as I lost mine between moves and really miss it. My only issue is that my eyesight is not what it used to be and I kind of rely heavily on auto focus to get any kind of decent shot.
Should I get it anyway or should I just read the damned manual and figure out my fancy camera? LOL
