First African Sunset

My first day arriving in Africa was pretty awesome. I was met at the airport in the middle of the night, then taken to a hostel to get a few hours of sleep. When we woke up, we got some breakfast and then got in a little van to head out to the village where we were going to spend the next month.

After I got to the village and met the elders and got settled in, I started to get the lay of the land. There was a small mountain near the village that we decided to go hike up in the afternoon. The hike took us a few hours and we passed a few houses with some livestock along the way. It was a nice way to get to see some more of the villagers on the first day.

When we got to the top, the view of the whole village was awesome. We could see out over the city of Arusha. Little did I know that the next month there in that village was going to be such an amazing experience that I was going to cherish for the rest of my life.
