Domestication is the process of adapting wild plants and animals for human use.

It was essential for humanity's transition from the nomadic hunter-gatherer to the stationary, homesteading farmer.

Domestication is usually a very long, complicated process.

Experts may spend several decades trying to domesticate a plant and still end up in failure.

So...

How did domesticated wheat just suddenly appear in Mesopotamia 10,500 to 12,500 years ago?

And it wasn't just wheat.

At least six other domesticated grains appeared simultaneously; including barley, oats, lentils and several types of peas.

IMHO, there must have been some kind of knowledge and technology transfer that resulted in the sudden appearance of those domesticated grains.

It also may explain how a fully functional, sophisticated civilization can just "spring up out of nowhere".

According to the Sumerian lore, humans learned how to domesticate plants and animals, plus everything from writing to astronomy from the Anunnaki.

(End Note: Ongoing experimentation with Crispr Gene Manipulation may enable scientists to greatly accelerate the domestication process.)
