Lyrics for my songs :-D

I've been writing songs since around 2010. It's been a slow and sometimes painful process. There was a lot holding me back, mostly my own fears and subsequent lack of focus, which eventually manifested into some back problems.

This album could have been released in 2013, but it would have been mediocre in my mind. I had not yet come to recognize myself as an artist and had not found my own voice, instead being only the sum of my influences without much conscious thought into how to cook these ingredients. I could have easily asked friends to help or work to pay musicians to play the instruments I didn't know how to play and a producer to produce something I thought people would want to listen to. But I knew I owed these songs more than I was giving them.

I held off on recording as I got into writing and eventually, some songs died and others were born, and now an album which I feel is much more representative of what I'd like to express is taking form.

Although I'm a bit embarrassed of how pop these recordings sound to me (mostly due to the fact that I had no idea what my voice sounded like and hadn't put enough thought into arrangement), I feel the underdeveloped 2013 version of my songs deserve a little love after I spent so many years ashamed of them. I know they are not bad, they are simply not what I was trying to express, but they are still beautiful for what they are.

Please have a listen. There are two songs up now both of which I've shared videos of on steemit/whaleshares, a few more will make their way up in the coming weeks. I've just put lyrics up.

Invisible Strings (2013)
