David Coverdale and Whitesnake

Here comes another year for the 38th birthday music initiative of a Great German guy on Steemit - the year I cover is 1987!

Having grown up in 1970ies to 80ies I was a huge fan of this so called Mainstream Rock Style mainly from the US. I listened and bought these records before I dived into the likes of Metal and Techno - I still love it though. So Today we are listening to a Hard Rock (would not say Metal) Band from the UK with a charismatic singer that also used to sing for Deep Purple. I talk about the one and only David Coverdale - the Voice and Head of Whitesnake!

About the Band and why 1987?

Formed in 1978 Whitesnake reached Cult status in the 80ies for their rock epic sounds! The band is originally from England - even I do think they sound more American. David Coverdale was the founder after his departure from Deep Purple and he took Jon Lord with him who is still a hero when it comes to Keyboard Sounds in Rock! Unfortunately he is not amongst us anymore - RIP Jon! Their main album success was "Whitesnake" from 1987 which made them a chart breaker finally in the US.

Rules and Nomination

I would love to have our German guitar hero @jedigeiss to get involved here but he is not on WLS yet so I am nominating anyone that wants to take part is happily welcomed - some rules below but they are not that strict - you shall have fun! What about doing such things also on Whaleshares?

Rules:

- Find out your year of birth (I forgot that one lol)

- Start with your year of birth (see above)

- Starting from the birth year to today (hmmmm, above)

- Search for songs from this year you still like today (I just decided for 1981)

- Post daily, weekly, as you like for each additional year a few songs that you like until you arrive this year

- Write a little bit about the year, music or yourself

- Nominate another Steemian

- Use the hashtag #x-daysofmusic

- Have Fun!
