Most at times when i watch the Grammy awards or any awards respectively, i always ponder how the judges get to decide who gets the award and the cash behind it. Explicitly, is it the talented or the famous who receives the compliments? Well with some little research i made, i think if your work is known or popular then there's no award for you.

For instance the previous Grammy awards, best collaboration of the year, the most rated, best upcoming etc. The artist with the musical genre takes goes home with almost all the awards while the classical work has never been complimented. Year in year out, the winners of this Grammy are mostly those who are famous and good.

Please if am wrong about this you can give me a feedback in the comment section.

Looking at the numbers, Taylor Swift’s “1989” won the 2016 Best Album award, whereas Adele’s “25” has been nominated for the 2017 prize. Both these albums have sold in their millions – “1989” sold five million copies by July 2015, and “25” sold over nine million copies in 2016. It would appear that there’s a clear split between “good” and “popular.”

If you might have noticed, in the beginning of an artist's career, what they do is they use their talent/creativity as a medium of verbalizing their feelings. This is the reason why the remain calm and serene each time they drop something new, they first off all see how their fans react to the song. The fans response determines the artist next step, their intention is to work through laborious emotions. Peradventure the end result isn't to their expectation, they put in much hard work- that is the fist priority of a beginner, "Perfection". From my little research that's how the industry is in Nigeria, and probably some other countries.

With time and consistency, they begin to master their craft, and when others notice how good their music is, they get on track with them (feature) Although, there are lots of challenges as a beginner, since there are lots of musicians at the moment, it could be hard for any upcoming to surpass them. And sadly, since music is irrational, their fans and audience might not fathom the message the artist is trying to pass. However, if they truly want to gain fame with their art, then they need an experienced tailor to amend their work.

Good vs famous
Basically, excellence is the first thing that comes to any who wants to produce something good rather than fame. They tend to follow their instincts rather than what the crowd thinks. Although attaining to feedback from the crowd is acceptable, but placing "popular" over "good" is considered uncreative or uninventive.

On the other hand, those who careless whether their work is know might be at risk with the constructive criticism. They tend to have UN-experience manager or producer and most times they feel downhearted if only a small number of the audience enjoy their work, this could be very frustrating.

Those who strive to be popular turn into people-pleasers. When your identity is tied up with your reputation, it’s a constant battle to keep up with the latest fashions. People who try to live up to others’ expectations will run into problems, because the whims and tastes of the public will change over time. A popular person may succeed in changing themselves to suit the majority of their fans, but this could come at a cost of their personal development. They might shift over time, but perhaps not for the better.

All the same, those who crave to record good works and be true to themselves but still pay deaf ears to their fans and the audience may never rise above their present state.
