For a small business owner, it can be difficult getting clients. You have to do the extra work to convince new clients to do business with you.. Here are simple ways to win their hearts with a first impression.

Dress Properly

Pay attention to your dress sense, your appearance speaks volume. New clients will be looking forward to see red flags, most of them pay attention to details and you need to be top notch in your appearance. Go for well tailored suits if possible, wear clothes that fit. Dress for the occasion and let your outfit be as professional as possible.

Prepare Yourself

Don't wait until the last minute to put your documents together especially if you are the type that procrastinate a lot. Prepare an agenda stating your discussion points, this enables you have something to talk about and not struggle to with words. You can also prepare some sort of welcome package for your client to go home with.

Check and Double Check Your Grammar

There is nothing as embarrassing as having a proposal filled with wrong spellings and grammar. It makes you look unprofessional and careless. Don't just rely on Microsoft word basic spell check, Use tools such as Grammarly to proofread your proposals, it detects wrong spellings and poor English. Make sure you proposal is easy to read and not ambiguous.

Shake Hands Firmly

You should be confidence and the level of your confidence will be felt in your handshake. A weak handshake will show that you are not confident, an over aggressive handshake will scare off your potential clients, they will think you are too eager. But a firm handshake will make your clients feel comfortable around you.

So with a great outfit, proposal and a firm handshake, you will most likely turn that potential client into a full time client.

I hope this was helpful..
