Morte et Tributa (MET)

Introduction

Hello fellow Whaleshareans! This post is to serve as an official introduction/description of the Morte et Tributa (MET) community. It is my belief that the MET community could become a valuable asset to every MAS-chain community. If, after reading this, you have any questions, don't hesitate to comment below or join the Discord Server.

This post will be updated and re-posted on a regular basis.

What is the Morte et Tributa (MET) Community?

MET's purpose is to provide business professionals and intellectuals with a central hub to which they can share valuable, general business-related knowledge and increase awareness of the cryptocurrency regulation that affects individuals and businesses world-wide.

The @met account will be used to advocate and foster a community of individualists that will analyze and critique the current state of crypto regulation and how it affects each individual state, province, country etc. In a time of regulatory uncertainty, it is of utmost importance to advocate for a regulatory framework which incentivizes innovation.

Please note, however, that while I have emphasized the importance of establishing a fair and forgiving regulatory crypto framework, the MET community will support all value adding business related information including, but not limited to, legal information, investment information, marketing information, etc.

In traditional business, companies and individuals have always “protected” their intellectual property, as there was no monetary incentive for sharing it. I believe, that with the introduction of blockchain technology and, later, mutual aid society (MAS) based chains, this traditional mindset has become obsolete.

What are MET Tokens?:

MET tokens are the official reward/share token for @met's subjective distribution. These tokens are backed by the stake held by the MET Whaleshares accounts (and, in the future, hopefully others), each token representing a 1% reward/share. Thus, for a full 100% reward/share, 100 MET tokens must be consumed. It is important to note that a share will only occur on platforms where MET sharing is supported. MET will be distributed to individuals who prove to be valuable to the Morte et Tributa mission.

Other potential means of obtaining these tokens are the following:

1. Helping Morte et Tributa via tasks created by @met and other moderators in the Morte et Tributa communities.
2. Winning competitions sponsored by Morte et Tributa.
3. Attending the BeyondBitcoin, WhaleTank Hangout with Projects that earn them (TBA).
4. Being an overall valuable Morte et Trbuta community member.

This description may change and no promises are implied by the use of these tokens. Though the creator has no intent on powering down his token's account, market circumstances may force this in the future that are outside the hands of the creator - thus the value of MET tokens are not promised. BitShares changes to the blockchain and subsequent reactions cannot and should not be expected to place liability on this token's creator. The Same is True with Respect to all Other Platforms.

MET tokens are currently only operating on Whaleshares, but will hopefully be modified to include Smoke, Steemit, and other MAS chains where it is supported in the future.

How to Use MET:

1. Go to this link (created by @bushkill) and check the @met account's mana/power status OR check the MET account directly.
2. Login to your Bitshares account.
3. Go to Transfer/Send
4. Send 1 MET for every 1% reward you wish to receive
   (100% reward requires 100 MET)
5. Send to official-met
6. For the memo use the URL that corresponds to the post you wish to reward.

What is the Morte et Tributa (MET) Community?

MET is being established to provide professionals and intellectuals with a central hub to which they can share valuable, general business-related knowledge and increase awareness of the cryptocurrency regulation that affects individuals and businesses world-wide. Furthermore, it is our hope to empower everyday people by assisting them understand the laws in their jurisdiction to better protect themselves from legal repercussions.

The @met account will be used to advocate and foster a community of individualists that will analyze and critique the current state of business, crypto and non-crypto regulation and how it affects each individual state, province, country etc. In a time of regulatory uncertainty, it is of utmost importance to advocate for a regulatory framework which incentivizes innovation. Who Should Join

As mentioned earlier, we are looking for forward-thinking business people who will be willing to engage and help the community grow. Startup founders and enthusiasts, business professionals, crypto enthusiasts and traders, SME business owners, and everyone that hopes simply learn about business. The @MET community is a hub where knowledge is freely shared for all by all, so we encourage members to create valuable business content that pertains to businesses or cryptocurrency. Conversations can ensue from these posts that may lead to regulations and policies.

So, MET is for everyone with a business mind, that hopes to either impart knowledge or wants to learn about the business landscape of different societies from members who reside in different parts of the world.

What You Stand to Gain

We recognize that community building can be a daunting task and, for that reason, we have put in place the right incentives as a way of rewarding individuals who create quality business content across MAS-chain platforms, using the MET tag accounts.

Also, we reward individuals who make efforts to grow our Discord community by providing MET tokens to those who invite friends to join in! Also, by engaging in tasks created/sponsored by @MET, individuals will earn more MET tokens these include: winning competitions, participating in initiatives, and by simply being being a valuable member to the MET community.

What are MET Tokens?

MET are cross-chain tokens backed by the MET account's whalestake/steempower/smoke power. These tokens provide holders the ability to reward their posts with the MET account, as well as share the post to the MET Whaleshares account feed for all the community to see. MET tokens are only given to people who: Participate in Challenges, Win Contests, and do other things of value for the community!

MET tokens are on BitShares! So, please make sure you have a BitShares/OpenLedger account to receive and send them for rewards/shares on your Whaleshares/Steemit/Smoke posts!

The MET tokens currently are only operational on the Whaleshares platform, but will soon be available on Steemit and Smoke
