IT'S WORKING!!!

Now we'll just have to see how long they'll last!

When I was harvesting the sweet potatoes this year, I had an idea; "What is I took cuttings from the vines and just saved those through the winter rather than starting slips in the spring?" As far as I could tell, there wasn't really much to risk in this experiment and it seemed probable that I would have a great success. So far, things seem to be working.

Since we already had some frosts, the vines were pretty much defoliated. Now we have signs of both roots forming and new growth, so everything is going well so far. The only difficult part might be trying to keep them alive fr the next few months, but I think we have a good chance of being successful. Fo the time being, they are just part of my "bathroom winter garden." Here's some more photos, enjoy!
