Almost all of us are familiar of this kind of mask. Worn for medical purposes, it is sometimes called as face mask or sugical mask. However, not every one of us knows how to use this the proper way. First off, this mask is used to cover the nose and mouth of the one using it. It has ear loops on both sides for it to be attached towards the back of the head. People use it to prevent the spread of disease or illnesses.

But how do we use it correctly?
If the white side is attached to your face, it means that you're trying to protect the environment against you. It is to filter your bacteria to prevent from spreading to others. Wear it this way if you are sick and you don't want people to catch any infections from you.

Now if the white side is outside, it means that you are trying to protect yourself against the environment. This means that you are being cautious of bacteria, disease or infection to come in contact to you.

So what is really about these color assignments? What is there on the blue side and on the white side of the mask?
The blue or colored side of the mask prevents fluids from going inside your mouth or nose.
The white one is the filter that blocks any micro-organism from entering when you're inhaling and exhaling.

Also, as an additional reminder, avoid re-using and sharing our medical mask with others.
