I have been building websites with the wordpress CMS for a long time, that was also the reason for making a number of posts about how you can make a (free) website with it.
You can read them here Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Epilogue.

In the past I was always against a page builder because I think it has a lot of limitations. I did try a number of them, and I always came to the same conclusion, you are bound to what is offered and you can possibly supplement it with code, but what is the use of a builder then?
Through an acquaintance who uses Divi, and doesn't make a website without it, I got to know the product. After making my own website with it, I am very satisfied with it and have since purchased it myself.

But wait...I was against a page builder (??)
Yes, that's right, and I still am. Actually, Divi is not a real page builder, but a WP theme that you can adjust endlessly, with an extensive toolbox on top where you can adjust almost all elements of a website to your liking, without code.

Because it is so extensive, I sometimes lose a lot of time in the search for how I can adjust something. There are many tutorials on youtube and the divi website, but often it is not what I was looking for, mostly because I didn't use the right words in my search.

For the average hobbyist, this toolbox is on the pricey side, $89/year. If you're just making a website for yourself, your favorite bar and the football club, it's not worth it. It is interesting for a (semi) pro because the package can be installed on an unlimited number of websites.

At the moment I can't make a really comprehensive review because I'm still learning how things work exactly. What I do like is that you can immediately work on the front-end by using their visual builder. Also what I had quite a few problems with in the past, a correct display on a smartphone, I could perfectly adjust it here (although it took some time searching).

Of course learning a new program or application is very time consuming, now I have the perfect excuse for why I am not present on whaleshares so much :wls_wink:

Do any of you have experience with Divi?
