The long-awaited Australian Operators have been confirmed and it seems the leaks were correct.

Over the weekend, Rainbow Six Siege teased the Australian theme of the upcoming season on Twitter. With a simple G'Day and the bright yellow Kangaroo Crossing sign, Aussies fans could be heard celebrating. Not long ago there were leaks surrounding the first season of Year 4 with screenshots of what looked to be the new in-game home screen. A barren desert in the background, a mad max looking motorbike and an Australian flag couldn't make it more obvious. Rainbow Six leaks have often been correct in the past so now it was just a waiting game to see when Ubisoft would confirm it.

That day has now come. Ubisoft made a news post on the upcoming season, confirming it would be called Operation Burnt Horizon and showing off the two new operators. These are indeed those that were featured in the leak so the rest of the rumours could also be true. The news post gives us a vague description of both of the new operators.
'Year Four Season One is all set to go, featuring two new operators from the SASR. One’s a stoic Attacker who’s just there to get the job done, and the other is a quick-witted Defender who’s in it for the guts and glory.' - Ubisoft News

Luckily we have more leaks to figure out what these operators do. According to this leak, our Australian operators are Mozzie and Gridlock.

'Gridlock is an attacker and he puts down a red web tracker that when defenders run into it, they get damaged and it makes noise.
Mozzie is a defender and she puts down a device that when the enemy drones go into it, she can take control of it and use them.' - Resetera leak

Edit: The leak specifies that the attacker is male and the defender is female, however, it is the other way around.

The attacker, Gridlock, sounds like she may be an attacking equivalent of Lesion. Lesion's GU mines will make a noise and damage an enemy player if they walk over them. Having this ability on the attacking side will help combat those pesky roamers. The defender, Mozzie, also sounds like the equivalent of an attacking operator, this time Dokkaebi. Dokkaebi can take control of the defending team's cameras by scanning an enemy's phone. Mozzie may be able to rewire the drones so that he can now use them against the attackers.

The full reveal of Operation Burnt Horizon will take place during the Six Invitational and will be broadcast from the Rainbow 6 Twitch Stream on the 18th of February.
