Ni no Kuni Theatrical Movie Announced for Japan!

As most of you should know, Ni No Kuni is a series by Level-5 which features magic and yōkai and incredible steam-punk styled monsters. The first release had cut scenes animated by the mighty Studio Ghibli and subsequent games highly stylized 3D animations. This new movie, much like the numbered sequels, will follow a new set of protagonists (Sadly no word of Mr. Drippy just yet) as they travel through Ni No Kuni (which translates to The Second Country) to save both worlds.
Akihiro Hino (CEO of Level-5) who also continues to work on Yo-kai Watch, Inazuma Eleven and the Professor Layton Series is in charge as producer and script drafter with Yoshiyuki Momose acting as director. The movie is in partnership with Warner Bros. Studios and will be animated by OLM, Inc. (formerly known as Oriental Light and Magic Inc.) best known for animating series like Pokémon, Inazuma Eleven, Beyblade and Yo-kai Watch.

The Ni No Kuni Series currently has three main entries and one mobile spin-off

• Ni no Kuni: Dominion of the Dark Djinn for the DS (Japan Exclusive)
• Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch for the PS3
• The newest title, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom for the PS4
• and the spin-off title, Ni no Kuni: Daibouken Monsters for for mobile devices through the GREE service in Japan)

The brief summary of the plot, roughly translated into English is as follows:
Yuu (a high school student bound to a wheel-chair - portrayed by Kento Yamazaki) and his best friend Haru, (key member of the Basketball Club) travel willingly through two worlds following the incident surrounding childhood friend Kotona (who is currently dating Haru.) With the reality and the danger of life simultaneously approaching the two worlds, Yuu and Haru have to make "the ultimate choice" between themselves and the land of Ni no Kuni (The Second Country.)

All current details could be changed at any time, or could be slight miss-translations on my part as all information is in Japanese. Ni No Kuni: The Movie is due to be released in (the Japanese) Summer of 2019. No announcement of an English Dub has been revealed yet, but we can all hope that we get to see this movie subtitled in cinemas and on DVD.
