Coming up later today is the still the ongoing Euro qualifiers campaign. We are now in matchday 8 and so far, it has been an exciting international actions week. Portugal who are coming from a comfortable 3-0 win against Luxembourg will be facing the B leaders Ukraine.

Portugal are not doing badly at all this qualifiers campaign, they are second on the table and will be looking to get 3 points off the group leaders. They are not only one of the favourites to make it into the Euro 2020 tournament, as usual, but they are also one of the favourites to win the competition again. This game against Ukraine will be a very tough battle for them, however, they have all it takes to get the job done especially with their attacking weapon in Cristiano Ronaldo.

For expected formation and tactic, they will most likely set up in their preferred 4-3-3 formation. They are very good at direct attacking play and are also a very good quick counter-attacking team. For them, it will be all about utilizing their attacking prowess to hurt Ukraine. They have Cristiano Ronaldo in the team which is obviously an added advantage to any team in the world, so for them, they will try to get the ball to C.Ronaldo as much as possible as we all know what he can do when he is facing the goal. Above all, this will be a very tough game for both teams, however, Portugal will be going into the game confident to get the job done.

Ukraine have been the strongest team so far in group B and have not lost a single game yet. Their form this euro qualifiers round has seen them win 5 of the 6 games played and drawn only one. They face a very difficult game against Portugal as both teams have all it takes to win. However, the Ukrainians will be looking to get 3 points or better still to avoid defeat to continue their unbeaten run.

For expected formation and tactic, they will most likely set up in a 4-1-4-1 formation. They are very good at keeping the ball and will be aiming to do the same against Portugal. They will be going into this game knowing that for them to stand a chance to win, they need to be at their best and perform at a top-level like they’ve been doing. Their goal will be to nullify the attacking threats of the Portuguese especially their firepower Cristiano Ronaldo. This post can als be found on my scorum blog
