Delicious barley for garnish

Hello, my friends!
Today we will cook a delicious barley garnish with vegetables. Although you can easily use this side dish as an independent dish. It's satisfying!
Don't underestimate barley. This is a very tasty, although inexpensive cereal.
The recipe is simple.

Ingredients:
● Pearl barley -1 glass
● Carrots -1 pc
● Onions - 1 piece
● Tomato paste -2-3 tbsp.
● Cream -200 ml
● Soy sauce or salt, pepper, herbs, spices - to taste

1.Previously, I decided to rinse and soak the barley in water. Yes, it helps in speeding up cooking. The pearl barley stayed in the water for about an hour and a half. Then we drain the water and throw the pearl barley into boiling salted water. Now the pearl barley will cook in 20-25 minutes. In any case, this is exactly what happened to my pearl barley.
We'll peel the onions from the husk. Peeling the carrots. Cut the onions and carrots into small pieces.
You can take celery and other vegetables, which is, then it will go into business. Fry vegetables in oil until the onions are golden.

2.Dissolve a couple of tablespoons of tomato paste in a glass of water or use tomato passata . Add sugar to taste. Tomato paste is usually acidic. Reduce heat and pour tomato paste into the pan.
You can add salt, pepper and spices to taste.

3.Drain the water from the finished pearl barley. A colander will always help!

4.And now add barley to vegetables in tomato paste, mix and add cream. Chopped garlic works well here. You can add it at this point. Stir the mixture and cover the pan with a lid. Cooking the barley on low heat for 7-10 minutes, let the cream be absorbed properly.

5.And now all that remains is to put the barley with vegetables on a plate. Nice tasty side dish. Greens are welcome!
I used cilantro.

But I used this barley as an independent dish. Very satisfying, no meat is needed here. Cream will make any dish perfect. But if you add a couple of sausages or a piece of boiled fish here, then the meal will become even more wonderful.
