How to Make a Gingerbread Cookie Martini 馃巹馃崻馃嵏 (COCKTAIL RECIPE + VIDEO TUTORIAL)
Merry Christmas Friends! 馃巹馃巵
On Christmas Eve, a cold glass of milk 馃 and a plate overflowing with cookies 馃崻 are specially reserved for Santa's midnight snack. 馃巺
While waiting for Old St. Nick to slide his way down the chimney, what will you be sipping? Grown-ups need a Christmas nightcap (or two or three) and hey, YOU won't be driving a sleigh...
Ooooo... why not steal one of Santa's cookies (after all, HE WAS a bit of cheapskate last year!) and some of that creamy milk and make yourself a YUMMY CHRISTMAS COOKIE COCKTAIL!
MMMmmmmmm.... GINGERBREAD MARTINIS sound like a sweet idea! 馃崻馃嵏 馃馃グ And since you and I are most likely on Santa's "naughty list" this year, I'm gonna be even naughtier and share this recipe with you!
Hopefully, YULE love it as much as I do... hehe! Ho-ho! 馃構
Holiday Ginger Simple Syrup Recipe
Ingredients
1 part water
1 part granulated white sugar
2" knob of ginger root
1 cinnamon stick
1 fresh orange slice and/or zest
pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove (or pumpkin pie spice)
Directions
1. Pour equal parts sugar and water in a small saucepan. Combine all ingredients and heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Once boiling, reduce heat and let simmer for 15 minutes.
2. Let your syrup cool down and then pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve.
I used 3/4 cup equal parts sugar and water and ended up with just about the same amount of ginger syrup.
How to Make the Cookie Cocktail Rimming Sugar
While the syrup continues to cool, we'll make the cookie rimming sugar for our Martini using a crushed gingerbread cookie mixed with superfine sugar.
If you don't have gingerbread, no worries. Just cheat it!
Substitute gingerbread with another Christmas cookie. Sugar cookies should do the trick!
The ginger syrup on the rim of the cocktail glass will make a convincing dupe for gingerbread.
1. Mix the the crushed cookie and superfine sugar together on a small plate.
2. Pour ginger syrup on to a separate plate and gently dip the rim of your Martini glass into the syrup.
3. Next, dip the rim of glass into the cookie and sugar mix. Tap off any excess... and voila! Now you have a yummy cookie rimming on your Martini glass!
Okay, now we're ready to shake up the Martini!
