KINGDOM CITIZENSHIP

TEXT: EPHESIANS 2:3-4

Myles Monroe defines a kingdom as the governing influence of a king over his territory (domain), impacting it with his personal will, purpose and intent, producing a cultural, values, moral, and lifestyle that reflects the king's desire and nature for his citizens.

A citizen is a person who legally belongs to a country and has the right (duties) and protection of that country.source

The kingdom of God just as any other country has a way of obtaining citizenship and it confers right and duties on its citizens.

Every kingdom has rules and regulations guiding the citizens, so also is the kingdom of God. Christ in his teaching told his disciples that he is going to prepare a place for them, and that where He is they also could be also.

Most parable of Christ makes us to known that their is an operational system in heaven where by God is the ruler. Christ usually tell His disciples that the 'kingdom can be liken unto this and that.....

As a believer here on earth we are a citizen not of this earth, we operate under a system that is far beyond the system of this world (Romans 12:2), tells us that "we should not confirm ourselves to the patterns and the system of this world". We are more that just stranger and visitors here our home is in heaven. In the book of (Hebrews 12:14) Abraham was looking for a city whose builder and founder his God.

HOW TO BECOME THE CITIZEN OF THAT KINGDOM

  • GIVE YOUR HEART TO CHRIST

  • BE BORN AGAIN

  • SET YOUR HERAT ON THINGS ABOVE

  • LET YOUR LIFE BE RULE BY LOVE

  • LET THE HOLY SPIRIT BE YOUR GUILD

RIGHT OF THE KINGDOM CITIZEN

  • POWER TO BECOME SONS OF GOD (John 1:12, & 13)

  • INHERITANCE (Acts 20:32)

  • THE HOLY SPIRIT (Eph 1:4)

  • ETERNAL LIFE (John 3:16; 10:10)

LIFESTYLE OF THE KINGDOM

  • TO LIVE HOLY (1 Peter 1:5, Romans 12:1, Gal 5:25-26)

  • SHINE AS LIGHT (Matt 5:14-16, Eph 5:8)

  • PRAYER (1Thess 5:17, 1 Tim 2:1-3)

  • KINGDOM EXPANSION (Matt 6:33, Mark 16:15, cor 5:18-19)

CONCLUSION

This is a call for us to take up responsibility as a citizen to influence and colonize the earth for the kingdom of our God. The more awareness and submission we give to the spirit intuition and counsel, the better representative of the kingdom on earth we are. All men in the kingdom should strive to attain full maturity and kingdom fruitfulness.
