EL CLASICO

El Clasico is the match between the two best team in the Spanish league. We could as well say in the world. Virtually every football fan knows about El Clasico; it’s the name given to a football match between Barcelona and Real Madrid. This match is known to be the most popular and the most watched due to the number of quality players present in both teams. It’s no doubt, both team have always had the best players in the history of football.

Gone are those days when the likes of Delima Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Zidane, Van Nisterooy, Raul, Deco, Xavi played in the El Clasico. So many people wants to watch them play; even fans from other leagues. The likeness continued when Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi started ruling the world of football. El Clasico still remains the most watched football match. But is the passion for that game going to remain the same?

This is a question on everyone’s mind. Cristiano has left Real Madrid already and Lionel Messi is currently injured; he broke one of his arms. Both players won’t be playing tomorrow’s match, and this might make a lot of people lose interest in the match. Nevertheless, it’s still El Clasico. It’s still a game between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Who will emerge as winner?

Real Madrid has been suffering ever since the Portuguese left the team. Well Ronaldo might not be the cause of their recent woeful performances. Fatigue might be telling on those players. They’ve conquered the world for three straight seasons, it’s high time they rested. Nobody will give them the chance to continue that reign. With all said and done, are they capable of defeating Barcelona?

Barcelona on the other hand aren’t in their best form this season. They’ve drew and lost matches they were expected to win. Most times, Lionel Messi always comes to the rescue. But he won’t be there for them tomorrow. They need to do it without him – they’ve actually won an El Clasico without Messi before. The Argentine came from the bench, but the score line was already enough to crown Barcelona as the winner. It was 3 goals to nil then. The players are doing well though, their 2-0 win against Inter Milan proved that. Real Madrid’s 2-1 win in the champions league isn’t enough to prove they can defeat Barcelona. But this is football, anything happens.

El Clasico is always difficult to predict. The fact that the game will be played in Nou Camp isn’t enough to choose the favorite to win. There’s always a different flow in the game. Barcelona has been doing pretty well than Real Madrid in the last few El Clasicos; they look like they will continue keeping that clean record, but Real Madrid will definitely give this a good fight. They need to show their fans they are back. And this is the match to prove that!
