EasyDex Photography Challenge Post #19 a niko3d entry
Hey Whalesharians
There's another great photo contest from wonderous videographer and photographer @boyerobert , so had to join this week. Posting a little late but hopefully just made it in time :-)
This weeks theme is depth of field.
Simply Painterly Bokeh
I'm pulling a favourite from my archive and slightly adjusted my tones and colour correction for this contest.
So this is my entry, the key here was to use the light direction to amplify the shallow depth of field. Ensuring the sunlight is acting as a rim/kick light, creating a "sillhouette" against the blurred backdrop.
Shot using the legendary vintage lens, the Meyer Optik Gorlitz 135mm f2.8. Aka as the bokeh monster, due to the number of blades it uses and smooth bokeh.
It's an all manual, half kilogram of zebra patterned metal and glass.
You can see photos of it here.
Zebra style gives this a great look :-)
The reason it's the broken monster, look at that glass and lens :-o

Not always the sharpest of vintage lenses but hit the lighting and focus just right it can be magical.
That's me for now folks.
Thanks for viewing.
