bHIVE Daily Bible - (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Issue # 0030
Authored by @mosunomotunde

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9

Everything in the physical realm begins in the spiritual realm. To receive physical blessings we must first receive the spiritual blessings. The atmosphere of 2019 is an atmosphere of new possibilities where dreams can be birthed at once. Where we can move from a place of not enough to the place of lending to nations. Grace is not merely a subject, nor is it a doctrine. It is the personification of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is His grace makes us gallant and heroic, enabling us to display no fear. Grace describes all that Jesus Christ has done for us as well as all that He is to us (Romans 5:17 - For if by the one man’s [a]offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

Three things grace is not;

  1. Grace is not a license to sin (Jude 1:3-4 - …..For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ)

  2. Grace is not a license to become lazy even though it removes stress so you labor gracefully. (1 Corinthians 15:18 - Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished) and (Philippians 2:13 - for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure).

  3. Grace is not cheap but it is cheap. It was purchased at a very high price with the blood of Jesus (John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life).

What then is grace?

  • Grace is a divine qualification. It qualifies you and I for things we naturally couldn't have earned. It is God's unmerited, yet credited favor (Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God).

  • Grace is a divine enabler. It compliments your efforts supernaturally. It makes you appear smarter and wiser than you are; makes you stronger than your actual capability. It ensures you don't stop until you are done (Psalms 18:29 - For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall).

  • Grace is a sufficiency. You can't exhaust grace because it is sufficient for anything and everything you need. Don't you dare worry that you are making too many demands on grace (2 Corinthians 12:9 - And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me). Grace provides a sycamore tree where a Zacchaeus needs a height advantage. Grace makes 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish sufficient to feed 5,000.

Let us carry the consciousness of the grace of God. You can have access to stuff but you may not be leveraging. Leverage on the grace of God. Being a Christian not leveraging on grace is like climbing 1000 stairs when there is a lift in the building because you had no idea where the lift was! How can you be strong in grace? It’s by exposing yourself to the revelation of Jesus consistently (1 Peter 1:13 - Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ). When you pick a 200 paged textbook to read, there are so many things you won't see in page 1 or page 17 or even page 78; just keep reading and you will continue to learn new things. One of the responsible steps of faith we must take this year is to schedule your diet with the word of God daily 2 Timothy 2:1. There is no gift of knowledge there is only discipline of study. To see new possibilities this year, your exposure to the revelation of Jesus will help you engage the grace of God on better, higher level. You’ll begin to get extraordinary results as you engage it. Divine grace is your advantage.
