But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV

The scripture above and what it says is quite simple enough for anyone to understand easily. A Christian is not a Natural man.

****First Question will be "Who’s a Natural Man?****

According to the Bible, the natural man is one that is not born again, one that has not received Christ into his heart to be his personal Lord and Savior. Until a man is born again, he remains a natural man and therefore cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God because they will be like foolishness to him. The natural man is easily fleshly controlled according to John 3:6.

But according to 1 Peter 1:23, the man that’s born again is born of the word of God and that word lives forever and can never die. Since the word of God cannot die, cannot be defeated, cannot be infected, cannot be destroyed, so also the one that’s born again because you are born of the word of God, therefore those characteristics of the word of God automatically applies to you because you are a seed of the word of God. The word of God is also a seed that when it's been planted, it can only produce the WORD. Just the way a farmer plants a maize seed, he won't be expecting a mango fruit, why? Because he didn't plant a mango seed, instead what he planted was a maize seed so he would be expecting a maize harvest. The word of God, when planted into us should likewise produce the word of God as well.

In the book of Acts 20:32, the apostle Paul gave them one important thing they should do. He recommended the Word of God to them and told the results that will follow if they did so. So for you to fully know and understand that you are not a natural man, you must give credence to the word of God because without it, you can't know who you really are and what you posses as a Christian.

So it’s high time Christians stop seeing theirselves as humans because the truth is we are not humans. We are supernatural beings leaving in the earth to display the virtues and perfections of God’s beauty and excellence. There are some virtues we carry and ought to display every now and then.

Jesus gave us some examples of our true nature in Mark 16:17-18.

  1. In the name of Jesus, we cast out devils, so that automatically means a Christian is more powerful than the devil.

  2. We speak with new tongues and according to 1 Corinthians 14:2, tongues are mysteries (hidden secrets or heavenly language).

  3. We can take up serpents, so it also means we have powers that are beyond this world. Wow!

  4. Nothing can and should be able to kill a Christian because nothing ought to hurt us successfully even poisonous substances.

  5. We should be healing the sick every now and then.

Whoever can do these things isn’t a natural man at all. A Christian is a believer, so the scripture is talking to you. It didn’t say it’s for pastors, deacons or evangelists. He only said those who believe and we are believers. So I challenge you, leave with this consciousness that you are not a natural man.
