Bhive Daily Bible (Zechariah 4:6)

Issue # 0028

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6 KJV

We play by a different set of rules and that could be seen in the word of God. Countless times, we have read in the Bible where God's strategy in defeating his enemies seems senseless but at the end of the day, it made sense.
An inspiring story could be found in the book of Exodus Chapter 17 which talked about Moses, Aaron, Hur, Joshua and the Israelites when they went to battle with the amalekites. The battle was so intensed that even Moses noticed it from the mountain top that he was watching from. As the battle progressed, Aaron and Hur noticed that each time Moses lifted up his hands, the children of Israel prevailed but whenever his hands went down, the enemies prevailed. Thank God they were wise and insightful to know what to do. They quickly got a stone for Moses to sit on and they helped his hands up until the Israelites won the battle.

What was the connection between the battle and a man's hand lifted up? That would suggest that it was a spiritual something. That would also pass a message that whenever we lift up our hands to God, something happens in the realm of the spirit.

There's victory and power through our hands but most Christians don't know and they suffer what the world people suffers as well because of ignorance. That's why they need to study and know the word of God for themselves. Even the Apostle Paul said that "Men should pray every where, LIFTING UP HOLY HANDS." This should let you know that if you practice this, you will experience more successes and victories in your life.

Another great example of a victory by the spirit could be found in Exodus 14:16, where Moses and the children of Israel were stocked at the front of the red sea. It seemed there was no way out, no escape plan because the Egyptians were chasing them hard and they very close. Even the Israelites were scared that they started murmuring and grumbling against God and Moses. Then Moses cried out to God and God told him what to do. What he was asked to do didn't make any human sense at all but still he obeyed and a miracle happened. He stretched out his hands towards the sea and the red sea divided. This is another proof that our hands aren't ordinary. Whenever we lift up our hands, God responds

As a Christian, there are ways we get our victories in this world, it's by the spirit. We should never reason like people of the world because we play by a different set of rules. At first, the strategy and plans to execute them might seem stupid but the ways of God aren't the ways of man. Knowing this truth and being conscious of it will help us live in this world as more than conquerors because whenever we face a daunting or challenging situation, we already know what to do to put us in the other side of the battlefield and that's the victory side.

Learn to lift up your hands in prayer and worship and see the power of God evident in your life.
