Former CEO of Mt. Gox (a bitcoin exchange) Mark Karpeles may be facing a 10-year prison term
Reason: Funds Embezzlement
The prosecutors announced that Karpeles "diverted company funds to invest in personal interest such as investing in a Software Development and also played a major role in totally destroying the morale/confidence in bitcoin users".

In other news, Coinbits DEX spikes up by 54% after an investment boost. Currently gaining them a rank of 49 by market capitalization, with a 24-hour increase peaking at around 20%. The prices and rank may have increased but the coin is still 46% down as compared to the price in November.

The shutdown of BASIS (a stablecoin) and teh returning of available funds to investors, the block reported citing an undisclosed source.
Though there have been no comments form Basis as to whether the alleged news may be true or not.
