Pretty high maintenance.

As with all things pretty, most things, some things - the pretty things that do cost a lot. Software, has the same problems, those pretty fast page loads in your browser then you have to pony up. Not that this is helped by a world obsessed with making your browser do everything except load actual content.

You have to go through a gauntlet of trashy flashy nicker showing only to realise there will be no nudity and this is just a teasers club.

When it comes to graphics and 3d especially the benefit is that the result is worth it, no waiting 2min for a page load only to scan and exit in 5sec. Software like blender 3D and what I recently discovered (finally downloaded) is Mandelbulb and Mandelbulb 3d which render fractals at some insane levels then lets you add materials and effects to finally have a pretty shiny weird looking image or animation.

Not even the scene I wanted but after an argument with the camera I decided that she was right.

Ain't 3d just grand

It costs you though, I have not tested any others or blender 3ds fractal ability and as we know shiny effects in the computer world get paid in time. And actual money but fortunately these are opensource and who does not just crack Adobe anyway?

I live in Africa so all software has to be free, pretty sure that is covered by the Human Lies thing the EU is always bitching about because no one gives a fuck about ponies if there is a dead cockroach in the kitchen.

I should have been busy with day 3 of my 5 days of Hell Inkscape but I figured even if it takes a year and I only do 5 days in the software. Then that is still 5 days and not 5 days as in day 1 day 2 so having that loophole I get to muck about as much as I like.

I would like to just reiterate that this software will take patience and a lot of clicking. Also, a pretty good setup as it is CPU only for some unknown reason and will run your pc at 100% which means no clicking then only patience. As I type this I have a render running and can hear every character sending power to the pc, like a short.

**Tip: You can limit how many cores the software uses by setting the affinity in windows 10 task manager so it will only be allowed to use some of the cpu power and not have you running at 100% - I just noticed this will be reset at launch again, not sure if you can make it a permanent feature. For smaller images it is not so bad.

Windows 10 Task Manager Set Affinity
Windows 10 Task Manager Select cores to limit application cpu usage

Mandelbulb is a pretty shitty word.

Mandelbulb is the only one I worked in but the Maestro @Mandelsage says that the interface for Mandelbulb 3D is much more user-friendly, it would not take much for something to be more user-friendly, I am more user-friendly in a rage than this software. Fortunately, I am a sucker for punishment and pressing my own buttons.

So I kept clicking, even after downloading Mandelbulb 3D also.

I made 3 renders in total. 14 hours, I only kept two because the one that took 10 hours just looked shit, and the one after that I concluded that what I had done was the problem but figuring out what I did is a whole other conundrum like determining the father of a fetal carcass.

I never saved the middle one, but I did get a chance to save the first and then a second one where I attempt to still get shiny effects at high res without the time it takes to render.

Basically anything with reflection, transparency and shadows will go screw you we got shit to do and will get to this in about 3 days. true story.

I save the images out as .tiff and 16bit colours with the intent to have Adobe then resample and convert for me, I have also heard photographers do that so I will be implementing hearsay knowledge.

Mandebulb Example Second Redder Second Render - Mainly Light changes and ray trace tweaks.
Second Render Mandelbulb - Photoshop Photoshop and Praying
First Render Mandelbulb First Render - oddly similar to the second render even with a lot more tweeks to lights
Still don't know why the changes did not really do shit. Oh and Photoshop and Praying.

So Kudos to @Mandelsage for the insane fractals he makes. I like them but need a much faster way to see whether something will render what I want and then it needs to render it maybe I will just go 2D, because my mind is a bit flat for all these fancy things.
