Whalesharers guide to the Steemiverse.. 🚀

Since I didn't have any freshly pressed ideas, I stood in front of a blank screen today. I'm just going to roll with it and see what happens.. feeling kinda spacey.

I prefer using my own images, so today I dug up some Instagrams that vaguely fit the theme..

Beep-bop. Switching to steemauto-pilot systems as we settle into orbit overlooking the beautiful green and blue sister planets of Steemit and Whaleshares. Activity reports from the surface look bright and buzzing with life on both planes. Blockchain-bloggers, the prospectors of these new-found lands seem to be doing just great! 👍

As awareness of the attention economy spreads, these gifting and sharing colonies are sure to grow exponentially. The unsocial-media refugee crisis will soon reach an all time high. Sure it's hard to look back, truth is we made a break and earned our head start. While loved ones voluntarily plugged into a candy crush zombie state, we managed to get out! 🤖 I'm thankful for our lives and trust we will build a safe space for them here, in time they may come.

I remember feeling like I'd visited a heaven on earth.. a solution 💚

We must remain focused toward the DAO constellations (decentralized autonomous organizations). Continue expanding while inter-connecting and forming new tribes and alliances. I'm excited about the diversity of all the dacs and dapps that witness as our sub-communities grow.

We will plan organized rescue missions back to the old social sites at some point. Just for now we need to regroup and take care of the foot hold we have here. Plant organic seeds and nourish strong roots. 🌱 We must build genuine relationships with care, attention and shared intentions.

Sometimes in our over-stimulated worlds we forget to use our most creative force.. imagination!

I'm still getting acquainted after a long hyper-slumber through the surrounding bear belts. There's been some defragging to process with all that data from the latest HF's too. On the ground I have started noticing slight cultural differences emerging between communities. This has also been interesting to observe. Ah-ha now we have it, finally I've found a point for this post!

Here I present my 5 initial observations:

  • Steemians and Whalees often occupying both worlds simultaneously, ah the wonders of cloning! This helps us find our favorite authors quickly and easily on either platform. Populate your feed with posts of interest, it's an important priority when you've just landed. Also frequently check tags, new and trending feeds for specific content acclimatize and feel at home.

  • Steemit has a lot of bot activity. I don't personally discriminate against automated systems, though it does seems a lot less prevalent on whaleshares. Especially in the duties of commenting/spam, upvoters and account farming. I believe the 2 witness humans approval process on whaleshares is a big reason for this more personable environment.

  • Self-voting is considered a rudimentary practice in Whalee culture. Whereas in the Steemian world it is almost a necessity for survival. While posting in Steem I do enjoy a good primitive chest beating, usually right after the curation window. I've noticed and now appreciate the more social Whalee gesture of preserving ones VP for use on each other.

  • This brings me to Whalee votes and auto-sharing. Voting rewards a post with WLS and shares it automatically with your followers. On Steemit while everything is still searchable on chain, Steemians do not immediately expose interactions. Any preferences for circle-jerking or flagging are not always obvious. While Whalees seem to display accountability directly.

  • Lastly Whalees do not seem to have a comparable hierarchical pecking order like Steemians do. It seems conversation quality and frequency determines the relationships of Whalesharers. Steemian inhabitants tend to respect the higher rep scores more when picking who to engage with, even though this is more a show of chain activity than reputation.

Removing mental writing blocks with intergalactic rocks! 🐱

Obviously there will be many more intricacies to discover and I haven't been around for long enough to prefer one community over the other. Definitely I've formed many friendships and have more invested in the Steem ecosystem at present. Though Whaleshares feels much like a vast and abundant wild west that is ripe and fertile to stake a claim to.

Perhaps some friendly locals will stop by the comments and share what differences they've noticed so far? I'd be interested to hear from any frequent flyers who warp back and forth. One thing is for sure as I revealed in yesterday's post, it's a great time to be alive and contributing to both chains.

Combined 1409.09 WLS @ $0.21 USD = $295.90 USD

To highlight Whaleshares results as an example, I've generated more with 3 casual posts in 3 days than many months floating around the Steem-sphere. Even then Steemit has already paid me many times more than all traditional mainstream social-media sites combined.

So I hope these overall perspectives offer some guidance and useful insight to others, especially those from distant worlds. You can write and share about whatever you want. Have fun, share your life, your passions, your interests. Fuck it, make something up if fiction is what you're into. Who cares? Just get in and fumble around until you find your feet, there's plenty of helpful people waiting to meet you.

May this inspire new arrivals landing for the first time, perhaps you will find others with the same interests as you. Hopefully you will stay and create a new home here too. We are after all, to some degree pioneers and explorers of this new space..

See you tomorrow,

Keni 😄

In past days we have mentioned that a great way to increase our overall happiness is to acknowledge the good things in our life and feeling grateful. When we tap into the habit of feeling and showing gratitude it is one of the most potent ways to increase feelings of happiness.. @hopehuggs

What do you do when an evening of camming gets cut short because no one wanted to make it worthwhile? Get out the weed, roll one up, smoke and take a few sexy pics. Yes, those are PornHub rolling papers! We got them from an adult webmaster conference in Vegas! This is not nsfw, but we will do a follow-up post from @candice's set as well, for those.. @thatguyrex1t

What's Up STACKERS! We hear it all day long, we even trick ourselves saying it to ourselves all the time... "I don't have time to do it". ⏰ I've been an Entrepreneur for over 20+ years and learned to make more time than most people, how does one do this if we all have only 24 hours a day? Check this out, we are all live busy lives.. @stackin
