These are trying times, even though I am an optimist, I have been finding it hard to deal with the severity of what is taking place. It is not the virus that worries me, but the endless restrictions that are being placed upon us. Almost everyday there is something new.

The latest here, is that the animal food stores are no longer allowed to sell seeds or plants, as they are not seen as a necessity. I can not even begin to go into how crazy this is, we all need to be able to grow food. I'm okay as I have seeds, I have always saved them, but they are certain things that I wanted to get more of and well now I cannot. For how long? that's anyone's guess.

I have been feeling a little overwhelmed already, but this just added another layer or uneasiness onto me. So I had to take some time and get up high, as that always helps me to clear my head and just let myself process things.I am lucky, that I only have to walk up behind the land I live on, in order to get to a plateau where the view is pretty breathtaking and where it is unlikely tat you will meet some else.
Nothing like wide open space, to give you a sense of freedom. So it was to that spot that I went with my mama dog Freya.

The Track leads us up out of the valley and I immediately begin to feel more at ease.

The mountainside is covered in wild herbs and the air is filled with the scent of wild thyme.

Still we climb upwards, higher and higher, leaving my little sanctuary behind, to reach the wide open wilderness.

the track on top is orange, which always reminds me of Australia and Africa, where the soil is rich with minerals. That is the nearest town to me, that you can see in the distance, but I will walk the other way.

This is the view I want, the view of the lake and the mountains that surround her and me.

it is so wild up here and that us exactly how I feel, I think this picture captures it well!

This is where I sit for a while, I let Freya off the lead and I just sit and let the wind blow away my worries and let calm wash over me.

This is the view in the other direction, the river that feeds into the lake. With lots of small abodes dotted near it.

I love this view of the mountains, they really look like they go on for ever. Being up here really helps me get out of my head and realize all that I have to be grateful for. I spend quite a while taking

The track back to my home, with all the recent rain, everything looks so lush and green. My head and my heart feel a lot lighter walking back down.
IMG_3043.JPG

Some wild sage greeted me on the walk up and now again on the walk down. There is such an abundance of wild herbs along here.
IMG_3049.JPG

I love the smell of wild lavender and will be returning in a day or two to collect some to make smudge sticks.

the lovely Rosemary, my sense of smell has really been on overdrive on this walk, especially after the recent rain. None of these hers need a lot of water, but still the have had to go without for quite a while and they look a bit more vibrant after receiving some.

And there we have it, one very chilled out dog and human make their way back home. Feeling revitalized and determined to just save ever seed I have, to not let any go to waste.

There is always a solution, it is just that sometimes we need to return to the wild in order to realize it.
